Beach Kitchen and Storage Pods

Ooh they have those stoves in B&M for 8.99 :D I may pick one up. Are they any good for cooking?

I use a similar stove mounted in my pod but it takes the CV300 cartridges instead;

My local highstreet camping shop (Oswold Bailey) has them at around £10 at the moment but suspect that's because they are about to shutdown.
Cooking is fine on it and has the advantage of being able to take outside the van if cooking something smelly. The cost of gas if using it a lot would be high compared to the large gas bottles but for occasional use its fine. My only complaint would be that when the cartridge is almost empty the pressure drops significantly.
Also got a Camping Gaz Party grill for use outside which can act as either a grill or burner.

I spoke to Evo motion about doing a shorted version for a swb van but they said they were too busy to make one. Their kits seem very popular, shame would be a great piece of kit. I also like the maxxcamp compact but the price! looking to get a pod made with a can fl1323 sink/hob sometime soon.

I may have a chat with the chap who converted my t25, see if he can do something.

It probably will fit. I am looking at selling my rear kitchen pod which is pictured a few pages ago in this thread as I want to remake it so it opens and closes automatically.

Matt, I looked at one of these but looked very tight if you turned the drivers seat around. Maxxcamp dimension seem more usable

I am after £1150 for mine. It has been used for a 3 week camping trip in france and is only a month old. I will be selling the mark 2 version at busfest but it will be considerably more expencieve.

Wouldn't mind looking at it at some point if you're near the midlands or at a show. :)

Im in Shropshire right now as I have familly here but will be travelling down to home to devon tomorrow. Probably a bit short notice I expect

No but seems like a lot of money for what it is.... I could fabricate these for far less.

Hey @zeratul Liking the Alex Ikea Draw conversion! How do you stop the draws from opening when you go around a corner? Thanks!

With a slidepod, can you still make the "long" bed (7 seater California Beach, part of the multiflex board up and part bent down)? Or is the depth of the pod exactly the available trunk depth in the standard seat position (multiflex board fully up)?
I sort of like the idea, but I'd be worried about storage space for luggage, porta potti and fridge, and in colder weather, you'd lose all heat inside the van when you just want to make a coffee?

But having all space inside would be a big pro. Especially for a family of 5.

Hi zeratul, in a Cali Beach with the triple seat bench the slidepod designed to fit under the multiflex board is our ULTRA model which is roughly 500mm deep. This allows you to slide the seat back until it touches the multiflex board when setup in the flat position (dependant on which water tank you specify). We do sell a tailgate awning to compliment the pod for those winter camping trips :thumb. It does also mean that you do have to open the tailgate to make a cuppa but this doesn't mean you have to get out of bed ;). We make and sell a base to connect the thetford 335 porta potti to the floor rails which Jane and I tend to attach just behind the passenger seat we also have a company making covers for these now :thumb.
We have X2 kids and a Labrador we never struggle for space. We are in the process of making a video that shows that a pod takes up far far less space than ......
a washing up bowl
a 25l water container
a campinggaz bottle
a double gas burner stove
a small camping kitchen unit
and a storage box full of crockery, pans, cutlery etc etc (equal in size to the storage found within a pod)
You have to remember that yes it takes up space but you can leave a lot of stuff at home and its a super simple system....
arrive at campsite / scenic spot, pop tailgate, slide pod out, put kettle on done :bananadance
Also because we are based in sunny devon we are looking at a try before you buy scheme where you can rent a pod for an agreed trial period and if you decide to purchase a new one to your spec and colour scheme when you return it we will not charge you for your rental :thumb.

Do you mean the bottles, sinks etc? You should be able to get them from any caravan supplier and ebay has sets.

Yes, but atleast in sweden just the sink is 180£ and I have now idea what items works with what.
I mailed aulich and they suggested I order from them through ebay instead which seems to work great.

I got mine posted from Aulich24 to the UK for 17 euros. Send them an email.
