The Kings Green park, in the gorgeous seaside village of Port William, close to Wigton is highly recommended. We were in Ayr and wanted a spontaneous night out. My oldish map showed no less than 11 sites from Ayr to Stranrar, but every one was full of statics, my pet hate. But I recalled passing once a site at Port William so we pressed in to there. What a gem. Seaside camping, spotless facilities, even wifi and just twelve quid. Decent looking pub and well stocked little shop in the village, 5 mins walk away. Hookups as well,if you need em and all community run.

Brill padders! As Cumbrians residents we will certainly give that a go!

I have stayed at the New England Bay and Garlieston sites owned by Caravan Club which are in the area
and this looks just as good as they are.
An entry made on my computer to use future reference.
