We are now an agent for DTUK/DTE SystemsTuning boxes.

We have run one for over a month on one of our vehicles, 180 4motion caravelle DSG, playing with the settings to get it spot on. We made sure we were totally happy with the results, before taking them on.

Basically these digital tuning boxes piggy back the ECU, and run off their own power supply, so essentially all the safety parameters join the ECU are still there. You get the benefits of a re-map, but with full on-the-go adjustability to suit your driving style. We also offer the pedal boxes which alter the throttle pedal response. Together they are a great combination. On a 180 BiTDI, the tuning box takes the power to 215BHP, on the 140BHP it takes it to 180BHP, whilst retaining the factory smoothness of the engine, and improving the mpg by up to 20%. The pedal box also helps eliminates the DSG pause that some people are experiencing. You can just have the pedal box by itself.

They can be DIY fitted, but we also offer free fitting on site at BMVS. We will be offering a fitting service at COTF 2015 as well. :thumb

The inevitable question - how much? [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH AND SMILING EYES]

I shall be there too, turning water into wine.

We have a DTUK box on our 140 4WD Yeti. Been on for a couple of years now and totally transformed the power delivery, I think 180 is a very conservative estimate.
Fuel consumption has remained about the same mainly due to me booting it all the time, :D no such thing as a free lunch.
It's just turned three years old so I was a bit concerned about the MOT emissions but it sailed through.
As mentioned the unit can be fine tuned using dip switches and can be "turned off" by fitting a blanking plug supplied with it.
We considered a remap but plumped for this in the end.
I believe it can be moved to another vehicle as well without any bother as well which was one reason we chose it.
Added a tenner onto the insurance cost when we declared it.

I know the chap that runs it fairly well; they do seem to produce impressive results!

The tuning box is £420 and the pedal box is £220. This includes free fitting and setup in our workshop. If you have both together it is £600.

hi, and how about exhaust smoke?
do the DTUK increases it?

These new tuning boxes are very clever and work with the ECU, so no excessive smoking as of tuning of old. The ECU's safety parameters are still there protecting the engine, as the box piggybacks it. We have fitted loads now, and the response from customers has been excellent - better drivability, more relaxed driving and better economy. Just fitting the pedal box can loose the DSG hesitation, by itself.

Obviously anything you fit after-market has warranty implications, but these can be removed and leave no trace. Also it has to be proved if this is an issue, that it is down to the box. We have had no issue whatever. You have to tell your insurance company when fitting.

We are happy to demo them, if you come down to us:thumb

I saw the DTE pedal box (V3.0) online for 199 eur and the DTE tuningbox (CRD14-System)
for T5 DSG7 SE 140hp 2.0 diesel 2012 for 749 eur : together 948 eur = about 693£

Your price is more fair if it involves the same products.

If I would order them from you, can I install it myself as a plug and play device ?
What would shipping to belgium cost approx ?
Any suggestion ?

Also what does the pedal box do better than putting the DSG in sport mode?

thanks for your valuable information

Hello

Yes, we are an agent for DTUK, so exactly the same products. Its a very easy home install, and comes with a comprehensive set of instructions.

The pedal box, with full adjustability, sharpens up the response from the throttle pedal inputs. SO you have to put less movement in to get the same power. It really sorts out the DSG LAG issue that everyone talks about.

Shipping costs to Belgium would be, at the worst case, £40, this is a tracked service from Fedex. Ill double check and come back to you

Is it suitable for the 2.5 174bhp pre facelift engine?

Much improved fuel efficiency or just no worse on this engine?

We've found MPG get better on all fitments, providing you can stop using all the extra power all the time

Is that using the onboard computer readout or checking by filling brim to brim?
When we fitted one of these units on our Yeti the fuel consumption decreased by around 20% according to the computer. Brim to brim it turned out more like 8%.

Edit, should be "increased" not decreased.

Oli is the peddle box compatible with other remaps ? I have Superchips Bluefin system on my Cali & if like you say the peddle box illuminates the DSG lag then I'd be interested in one if it will play nicely with the Bluefin.

Hello Andy

Yes, it works independently of the re-map, you can put it on an un-mapped vehicle as well. Do you ever pass by, you could demo one if you wish? You won't regret it

Hi Oli unfortunately not down your way much. Have Googled & folk seem to rave about it saying DSG much improved.
How much for one posted to me please ?

Sent from my SM-G900F

It does change how the vehicle drives, most say more than a re-map. Let me know if you want one, we can post it out. It is DIY fit, and we can talk you through on the phone if you like :thumb

Hi Andy, I really like the idea of the bluefin as well. I am getting a new 180 DSG in a 3 months so was seriously considering it ... I'd welcome your feedback please?
