New Beach arriving on 1st March :)

Quick question, can you turn the captain seats around without opening the front doors?
 
No you can't you have to open the doors a couple of inches. Drivers side is awkward due to steering wheel.
 
Thanks Jeff - I thought that would be the case. Oh well, small price to pay, not sure I will be saying that when the midges are out!
 
In practice it is all part of a routine. You have to open the doors sometime, unless you enjoy eating and sleeping in the front seat.

Parkup, roof up, gas on, kettle on, seats turned round, screens ready for popping on front windows......

Yes, open the door, give it a shove and try to get the seat swung round before the door springs shut again because you didn't shove hard enough ...
 
Or if you are lazy just swing the passenger side round and push the drivers side as far forward as it will go. Saves fiddling with the steering wheel and then having to reconfigure the driving position when you set off again.
 
Turning drivers seat is not that easy , i leave it in position as just two of us ...
Try to turn the passagerseat once whitout openig the door...results in a damage door panel....scratched it:headbang
Note that i have LHD , as for you guys if you turn passengerseat and leave driversseat in place is a bit rare , no?
 
I prefer drivers seat reversed, the facing seat is then by the side door and not a squashed in place by the kitchen unit.

Get out, drop the steering wheel, push seat back forward as far as it will go, swivel round until the knurled knob starts to foul the pillar then adjust for length so it just misses... 2 minutes max.

I've put a faint pencil line on the drivers seat base to mark the position for easy seat turning.:thumb
 
There you go another reason for having a Beach - the kitchen unit doesn't get in the way of the seat :)

I have a LHD
The manual says yes but the hand break must get in the way???

Yes, it does turn round but you have to release the handbrake. This is fun if you are on levelling ramps :D
 
Fozzy , what do you mean , you got a left hand drive ( so do i)
Your underwriting say you got an SE180pk , so you do have the kitchen unit i guess? Or is it a beach and not an SE

Ok Fozzy , you changed the underwrighting , it's a beach ...
Guess all beaches have swivelseats....?
They do turn easyer as there's no kitchenunit behind the left frontseat .
The handbreak can be in the way turning the driversseat ....your left seat also...
Best is to open the door a bit , 10 cm is enough
I tryed once and not opend the door resulting in a light damaged door panel( scratch in the upholsery)

Does all beaches have Captains seats. Or can they have standard seats aswell!?
This is really starting to puzzle me big time!!
But I am just a head chef for the army!!?
 
Both front seats swivel, once you get the hang of it it only takes a minute, by the time I turn the seats Norma has the wine open, :thumb

By the time I get them swivelled, the wine's been drunk :confused:
 
I need to drink the wine to work out how to swivel them

By default they have two swivel seats but each one can be replaced with a non-swivel hight-adjustable seat. In our LHD Beach we have the latter for the driver seat. Since we have a fridge behind that seat swiveling is useless and impossible, so we preferred the hight adjustment.
 
In my SE i never turn the left seat (kitchenunit and steeringwheel in the way)as there just two of us , one on the front right and one in the bench seat.
 
This is turning into a wine swilling, seat swivelling party :D

(Threads either die abruptly, or linger and degenerate like this :D)
 
If you're stopping for the night drop the sun visors down before turning the seats. It stops you having to move the seats when you put up the windscreen curtain.

I still forget this everytime.
