Can anyone remember square steering wheels on an Allegro???

I have a great vehicle, keep it great VW, don't screw it up.

Sorry to be boring,I love my Cali and I would like to love the next one.

The colour coded dash is reminiscent of the classic vdubs. So now we know what the outside looks like and the dash, it will be interesting to see if the coloured interior trim makes it into the back of the Cali and onto the living equipment, cupboards etc. Exciting times ahead.

Thanks for the photos. For some reason the two tone red and white T6 looks smaller? A colour therapist could probably explain this... I like it.

Here's the translated text from the German Focus website. The biggest changes seem to be in the engines, dash (two versions available) and the upgraded electrics (eg power tailgate, front seat adjustment, adaptive suspension). I still get too distracted by that two-tone paint job though ... doesn't exactly pull it off in the way a Splitty does !

More electric helper in T6

A two-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with 110 kW / 150 hp or 150 kW / 204 hp.
There is a 6-speed manual transmission, a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic (DSG) and, optionally, as usual, all-wheel drive 4Motion.
The maximum torque of the Bulli is 350 Newton meters. The consumption of the car is lowered by its own account for all variations around a liter VW.
Cockpit in two versions
The cockpit of the T6 is available in two versions: The Transportation is very convenient with open shelves in the van versions of the center console is wider than in a minivan. The new navigation system is the same as the VW Golf or Passat.
The Bulli you can order again in different versions, from flatbed vehicle on van and wagon to a luxurious Caravelle Multivan or camper. The van has a cargo space depending on the structure of 5.8 (van basic version) to 9.3 cubic meters (high roof). For an extra charge, there is again a second sliding door. How much does the T6, VW has yet to reveal.

The T5 Caravelle Business previously had a two tone colour option, (Silver top/ Natural Grey bottom) but at a staggering UK 3840.00 cost. I wonder how often it was chosen at that price. Hopefully the T6 two tone option wont be quite that much.
Also, hopefully there's a mistake in the info translation above regarding max Torque being 350Nm. I believe the current T5 BiTDI has 400Nm torque and 132Kw of power. Seems odd you would up the Kw power to 150 Kw, but lower the Nm unless it was cunning fuel saving magic formula? As we're talking California's here I'm guessing for most it's more about Torque than power. More about easy cruising and enjoying the journey than racing.
Bring on some pictures of the Cali. Or perhaps VW are waiting for a later release date.

I do not like that big black grille on the bumper, looks really cheap like some of the Korean SUV's now have. Also the lack of change is good news for anyone selling a T5 Cali as I think residuals will stay high

Has this person never seen a T5????? He is talking about electric doors etc... as if it is something new.

I also notice all the air vents and stupid plastic flooring is all the same as we have now.

Very very disappointed and nothing on the T6 would want to make me want to change any time soon.

I like it. For those who know we can see the differences.To the untrained eye it doesn't date our T5's.

From Autoexpress this morning. Passenger side sliding door standard.

A long wheelbase version will be available as will a high roof derivative. A passenger side sliding door comes as standard, with a driver's side sliding door available as an option. In terms of carrying capacity, the panel van cargo area ranges in size from 4.3m to 5.8m3 load volumes depending on the model chosen.

The California camper van version will join the range towards the end of the 2015, shortly after the panel van arrives in the UK. Caravelle and Shuttle passenger carrying versions make their debut in the fourth quarter too.

Can you see if it has ACC fitted?
I think I can make out a detector in the lower grill but photo is not that clear.

Yes, its the little square in the middle of the lower grill.

sorry our mails have crossed it does have ACC.

Thanks for posting the pictures and video's, this would not make me want to change my T5 which I was considering doing once this was announced. I may be tempted by the petrol engine but I can't see that being available in the UK.

Also looking at the video they have used many of the same materials from the T5 inside which is a real cop out IMHO, this also makes me think the kitchen units and seats for the camper version will be identical to what we already have!!

utterly underwhelmed by this, it looks like a Vivaro, hyundia mash up.
it comes to something when the Ford Transit has been braver.

I wonder how many of these bits will fit on a t5. Some new wheels at least I imagine!

I'm not sure whether to feel happy, relieved or both. If I'm honest, based on our experience of VW ownership for many years (we also have a Golf), the upgrade seems very much inkeeping with VW's upgrade policy. At least aesthetically.

So I'd see one on the road, for a moment it would be quite indistinguishable from the previous version. That said, I'd be interersted in some of the refinements. How it feels on the road, and of course, if/what changes they may introduce when considering the 'Camper' model.

All in all, I think it's good news for everyone. For those with the current version, it's not dated it one jot, and for those hanging on, it looks like they'll have a great vehicle to get their hands on, as, afterall, the Cali IS a great vehicle!

Had another look at all the pictures and I'm quite glad its not much different as the T5.1 was a stunning looking van anyway imo. I think the rear end is improved and sharpened up, the dash is great too. The front end hasn't won me over, the lights and grills are too big and I agree with the poster that said it gives it a Hyundai/Kia look.. maybe its better in the flesh. I wonder if they will bring out sportline versions/wheels etc.

I tend to agree with you. I think the there will be a change in colour for the interior like there was for the T5.1 but nothing too radical. I think we also tend to forget how there are minor revisions each year to the spec.

I will be happy to get a T6 Cali at some point in the future or maybe the T7 by the time I do it. For now though I will continue to enjoy the one I have happy in the knowledge that the legend lives one.

All that said it is fun looking at new stuff isn't it.

I suppose a less radical shift will mean I for one won't feel a desperate need to change.....probably not what VW would want to hear....certainly on looks alone although I agree the two tone is more retro. Having wrestled last night with turning the drivers seat....eventually necessitating moving to a flatter pitch it is a shame if the brake is in the same place!

can't believe they haven't gone for an electric handbrake...huge missed opportunity, and it can't be that difficult to include?

I think the ACC is a great option (having experienced it on a hire Golf about a year ago), but it sounds like it is an option.

powered tailgate would be nice at times but I can't imagine it being a good idea once you put a bike rack on:
It will either not cope with the weight of the bikes and therefore may get damaged or it will push it all up so hard that the bikes handlebars get driven deep into the roof of your brand new T6...ouch.

Anyone know the CO2 numbers for 204 ps engine ?
