*DEPOSIT TAKEN* VW California Coach Westfalia T4 (1996)
It's with a heavy heart that we've made the decision to put our Poppy up for sale. She's a 1996 VW California Coach Westfalia with 175,000 miles on the clock, and a full service history. She's got all the amazing build quality you'd expect from a factory built VW camper van: loads of cupboard space, extremely comfortable seats and beds, really well put together, most stuff still working like new. If you want to find out the spec in more detail, you can find every tiny bit of info here: http://www.westfaliat4.info/html/1996_vw_westfalia_t4_californi.html
Mechanically speaking, she's had a quite a bit done recently including a full £1000 cambelt, fan belt and water pump service in December 2020 and a new clutch last month. Poppy is MOT'd until March 2022 (with only a few tiny advisories), an uprated leisure battery charger and battery, and she's had a full camper van habitation check carried out at the start of this summer.
Poppy's got a few extras on top of the already extensive VW spec list, including a Thule roof rack, Fiamma 4-bike rack, uprated springs, and a new Rugs 4 Bugs cab mat. She also had a professional valet with a full two-stage exterior wax and wet vacuum interior clean in May.
Poppy's 25 years old, so there are few imperfections here and there. There's a few knocks and scratches here and there, some paint lacquer peel and a bit of rust on the front left wheel arch lip. In the camping area, the fridge isn't particularly cold (we just use a cool box instead) and the water tap is a bit temperamental. In the cab, the fuel gauge doesn't work—the previous owner swapped the speedo from KPH to MPH and knocked the fuel gauge when fitting. We just reset the odometer each time we fill up and monitor fuel usage off that.
As you'd expect, there's tons of paperwork that provide a thorough history for the van, and I'm happy to provide more images or provide a video walk around if you'd like.
We'll be so sad to see Poppy go, but she's ready for many more years of adventure!
Priced to sell at £14,000.
