Anyone else going to have a looksee at the Grand at the show?

Yep.

Going on the 19th.

Not just the Grand though, it is my annual pilgrimage to the land of the Great white to yet again be reassured that I really did make the right choice :D

Just book a motor home driving lesson with the cc club, it's a really unpleasant experience. It'll cure any future temptation. See how many cones you can take out...

Yep as we do every year, good day out with the lads with the added bonus this year of the Grand

And for a full house, I'm there on the Wed...

Never been before, so looking forward to a day out.

We’ll be there on Wednesday 20th. It’s going to break my heart but we’re going to have to sell our Cali in a month or two’s time. We’ve always slept upstairs with the dog downstairs but health reasons mean that this is no longer a practical option. So we’re going to move to something a bit bigger. I’ve narrowed it down to three choices (Hymercar Yosemite, Adria Twin Supreme, Grand California) but it will depend on cost and delivery dates. I’m only too aware that nothing will offer the versatility of the Cali but we have to change in order to continue to enjoy the camping lifestyle.

That’s a shame Leighton but needs must. Enjoy whatever you decide on in the future

Leighton, very sorry to read this but I do hope that you continue to be a member of this forum. Your views regarding upsizing would be most interesting.

Needs must....

I know people who've bought a Knaus Boxlife, looks great from the outside and it's the same size as their previous vehicle, which they used a lot, so bigger shouldn't stop you doing too much.

Sorry to hear your news. At least you can still have adventures. I drove down to the show in Glasgow and was not impressed with many as the build quality just didn't seem up to much. Looked like building for looks but down to a cut price. The only VW were conversions and nice looking but no where near a California. As for the Grand Cali don't think it will be available for this summer at the earliest.anyway keep travelling and enjoy life.:thumb

Be interesting to see if VW put on a full on display like they do at Dusseldorf and TC etc...
especially as it's VWUK's first time at NEC for many many years...so I am looking fwd to seeing what they put on
(there's a press breakfast on first day so that's a hopeful sign;))

I think they’re bringing the Grand 600 but not the 680 unfortunately.

We’re staying with my sister in Vancouver in July but we’re booked on the Portsmouth/Le Havre ferry in September so I’m hoping we’ll be sorted by then.

we will be there on the Saturday thanks to campervantastic

We will be also there thanks to Campervantastic. We are going on the 19 so say hello GrannyJem. Sorry to miss Martin calikev and MattBW ... Enjoy them on YouTube:thumb

Volkswagen sent us free tickets so we plan to go on the Sunday. Hopefully see some of you there .

We’ll be there on the 19th or 20th, also courtesy of Campervantastic. It would be nice in such circumstances if we had a ‘vwcaliforniaclub’ lapel-type badge...like trainspotters, then we could recognise one another.

Perhaps a club window sticker lightly applied to the forehead might do!

I'll be there on the 20th too. Thanks for all the posts or I'd have missed it!

Arriving about 1pm. I will be with my Sister. She's looking for accessories for her caravan. I will be recognisable by the pained expression on my face, which every time she gets the hump I blame on my ever so sore foot :D

We did not win their 'free tickets' but went anyway. What a poor exhibit for a major manufacturer. No 6.1 and pretty ill-informed staff on the 600/680.

The product speaks for itself though (don't they know it) and we were able to have a good hand-on.

Now trying to access their configurator.... anyone had any luck here?
