Morning all, I've been reading these forums for quite some time picking up tips and pointers and just realised I haven't actually posted anything.
We've recently (June) ordered an Ocean and are very excited about it, no definite build date yet, but the estimated ones are around mid October to early November.
We've gone for:
204PS DSG Ocean in Oryx white (2WD).

We hired a cali from BMVS last summer, took it to France and really enjoyed. Almost ordered a T6 back in November, but I walked out of the dealer as my backside went when the sales guy went through the figures.
Finally stopped hyperventilating and went back in this June.

Welcome , ordering a Cali is indeed spending a lot of money ....but you only live once , might as well enjoy it..,

Great news! Oryx white looks great in my opinion. Just come back from a nice weekend in our Cali (in Oryx) and given it a polish and the paint just gleams in the sun. Makes the lines of the vehicle look so sharp.

You won't regret getting it. We've had ours for four weeks now and been away every weekend with the kids and had a great time even if just for one night. It's just brilliant having a different view out of our "bedroom" window each weekend!

People say that the California is expensive, and yes it is at face value, but when you add up the cost of conventional package holidays abroad and compare that cost with the amount of mini holidays you can get from the Cali and the fact that it has a final value if you were to sell it, and it doesn't seem so expensive in the end.

We looked at conversions and second hand California's, but when you really look at what you get its pretty good value in my opinion. Most conversions don't have integrated blinds in the windscreen or tables built into the sliding doors for instance. It's very well thought out and nicely designed. When you look up at the fit and finish of the parts and compare to a conversion you will know what I mean. And yes you can add lots of options onto the list price if you want, but it's pretty well equipped as it is really.

As they say, you only live once, and you can't take it with you... Might as well spend it whilst you can and enjoy some fab weekends and weeks away from the norm....

Welcome JamieB! Your specs sounds great! I hope you can enjoy your time with scrolling through this board/campingshops befor getting your new Cali!

Thanks all for the welcomes, we're very much looking forward to getting our hands on the Cali, will post some pictures when it arrives. You may not be able to see it against the snow in the background in December though. Lol

Right, after a really long wait (June 6th order) I've been given a confirmed week 7 build date (13th Feb). Made my day as before Christmas I was given week 15, and hence VED pain. Hopefully this will now be avoided. Over 9 months wait! I can now allow myself to get excited, again.

Good news. Fingers crossed for you

Well worth the wait. It may be with you mid March. Any plans yet?

We've started planning a summer trip to the Italian lakes, and have joined the same caravan club as the in-laws, so there's a couple of local-ish weekends planned. Very much looking forward to it.

Great news! And the Italian lakes (I only know Lake Garda) are a superb destination.

To be honest I say lakes, but the plan is probably just to to Lake Garda, taking one route on the way down with stops, then a different route, with stops, on the way back. I'm being vague as holiday planning is not something I'm allowed autonomy on

Wife surprised me for my birthday by taking me to see the Cali at the dealers on Saturday. I hadn't realised it had arrived. Won't give away which birthday ;). Picking it up later in the week, dealer fitted items and PDI hadn't been done.

Happy birthday Jamie! What a great birthday surprise. Lovely wife you have...
Look forward to seeing more pics later this week.

Great news. Congratulations on the arrival of your oryx white Cali and your 40th.

Nice number plate.....o_O

Congratulations on such a wonderful day.

By the way Jamie - if you are looking for a perfect nimberplate and can't afford JB40 then how about this idea. It's available on the DVLA cherished plates!

Perfect for a lover of white....

£599.00. Bargain.
Thanks very much for the suggestion. I do actually have my own plate, unfortunately it's not JB 40, although that isn't exactly one I'd pick, I could have paid for the Cali if I sold it. They did let me keep the plates on the weekend, just without the supporting documentation.
I think I'm going to show off to the neighbours by leaving the '17' plate on it for a while, 'cos why not?

The reg I have on my Cali was bought for my 40th birthday present. As I am now considerably older than that I am happy to display it. If only....:):):)

Well it was finally ready last Thursday.

We slept in it the very first night. Had a trip away at the weekend, unfortunately not sleeping in the cali but drove it, so now it's dirty so more pics will follow later
