Germans on a Highlands Round Trip

Hi All
So we are now on our way up to the Highlands. After a 7 hour trip from our Hometown in Germany we stayed on a lovely little Campsite about 40km way from Dunkerque, Camping La Chaumiere in Buysscheure. Great little Site, very Dog friendly and the Owners speak English. Spent a great Evening with some couples from UK.

Easy Channel Crossing the next day and a pretty busy ride to the next stop, Caravan Club Campsite in Peterborough. Real nice place with a nice lake and recreation are close.

Now we are up at Scarborough for 3 nights waiting for 4 German Friends. Monday morning we will hit the Road up to Dunbar near Edinborough. Pretty windy here but we had a nice walk with the Dogs

So, after a long day, time to relax

Great stuff , do the two sheparts sit in the booth or in front while driving?
We been two weeks to Wales in june , such a great place to visit the UK.

Hi, no, the two Girls travel in the Back. I will post a picture of my mod to the Back. Basically I raise the Rear Bed Tray and insert a Seperartion Wood so each gas its own section.

Try and make it North of Loch Ness and the Great Glen, you are then into a really different wild landscape with fantastic light quality..... Most visitors miss out on the best bit of Scotland.

Good job ,with one you can always let it stay in the front ( between the front and benchseat) but two of those big girls....looks like they are loving it!
Also nice having fiited that "bag" to protect the sides and keep things clean :thumb

Thank You. The Protection is
Made by a German Company called Kleinschmidt and is named "Starliner". Its for the Multivan but I modified it a little so it fits the Cali.

We stayed a night at a beautifull Campsite in Dunbar

After a ride through Edinburgh and a short stop at the Castle we are now at St. Andrews. Beautifull view from the site down to the Bay.

That doesn't look like typical weather for Schotland , are you sure you'r not in the south of France?

Lovely, isn't it ? Yesterday it was a little more Scottisch but we still had a good walk with the dogs down to the Beach and the Cathedrale.

Hi,

If you are looking to stop over in Inverness, then I can recommend www.torvean.com
It is situated quite near a bus stop (to take you in to the centre) & it's also right next to a Premier Inn / Beefeater restaurant with a good bar & decent food.
You're also next to a nice canal - excellent for walking the dogs.

Hope you enjoy Inverness, it's one of my favourites :thumb

We certainly can & do get good weather HC...., just not as often / as reliably as our chums down south

(Other common myths to ignore are that we're all ginger & we're all tight. Thought I'd get that one in too

Glad you got to see a good chunk of the Highlands. I was at Dunbar in my Cali on 26th-28th and then Perthshire for a couple of days and the weather was glorious! I hope you've had a great trip

Thanks. Yes we have a great time ! Currently we are in Windermere, Lake Distrikt. WiFi is most of the times poor so more of a Trip Report will follow once we are back. Just flashed with all the Impressions. What a Road Trip it is ! Now looking forwatd to the Busfest in Malvern. We will stay , please don't beat me, tradionally wirh our long time friends from the T4forum Uk.
