Prime position at Cnip campsite, west coast of the Isle of Harris, Hebrides, earlier this week. It was a little gusty but superb views on this lovely beach.

Small world, we were at Cnip too...last Tuesday night! Yes, a stunning spot and gorgeous empty beach. We completely loved the Outer Hebrides.

And here we are at a stop for a cuppa on Wednesday morning, on the road to Great Bernera...

wow, must have just missed one another... Didn't notice another Cali on site but we were there on the Tuesday night (20th) before catching the ferry from Stornaway-Ullapool the next day. Had a good chat to a VW Bilbo's owner that evening. We had been at Horgabost the previous night on Harris. It was a superb trip - we really enjoyed it and will return.

Doh, my mistake CoboCali - I've just checked Velmaslog (little blue trip log book we keep in glovebox - sad, I know) and it was the 19th we were at Cnip. No other Calis that evening. On the 20th we wild camped on North Uist. Sounds like you headed on up to Sutherland? That's deffo on our list for next time.

Speaking of wild camping, or semi-wild anyway, we came across this stunning 'camping spot' near the massive/empty Luskentyre beach in West Harris. Just a lay-by, but the view borders on the biblical. Run by the local community and a fiver a night - you can pay by paypal at www.westharristrust.org/camping.

If anyone heads out that way and wants to find this one, it's at: N 57.877 W 06.930. The community runs several others across West Harris and I expect they're all in similarly gorgeous locations.

ah, we must have passed one another on the road @Velma's Dad !
This pic below shows us parked up on the morning of Tuesday 20th for coffee on what very well might be that specific parking spot in your photo! It was certainly tempting to spend the night there with that view. You're right - we did a clockwise circular tour starting in Fort William, and taking in Skye, Harris, Lewis, Durness, John O'Groats, Inverness/Culloden, and Killin - 1300miles+ over 9 nights. great fun.IMG_6396.JPG
