Looking for a T4 California or Westie for my daughter

If anyone knows of a straight T4 cali or Westie for sale please let me know. She has a limited budget, but the family are very keen to get into the camper way of life - many thanks

Morning @CALI FATE. The T4 California and Westy are one and the same. Westfalia built the California conversion for VW before they took the name for themselves and built it 'in-house'.

The range is huge, with varying specs so there should be something out there to suit your daughters budget.

The budget can't be limited if you are looking for a Westfalia! You'll struggle to find a bargain these days. A bog standard T4 with a well made interior would be better.

Prices can range from £8k for an early 90s example all the way to £22k for a perfect runout 2003 model. The big thing to bare in mind is would your daughter be happy driving a LHD vehicle. The Westfalia California was only available in LHD. If you find any RHD it's not genuine.

As @ArcticMatt suggests. A well made conversion may be a better option. Or if the budget fits there were some conversions by Bilbos. I think good examples of these are even rarer than the Westy.

Thanks Pod - i think she can go up to £10k .... but it would be a great home

Have you considered looking in Germany as there will be much more choice and possible better price?
