Leave Cali technicalities to my husband but I'm sure I've read on here somewhere that much better to have the mudflaps factory fitted for some reason.
 
True - when I added them to a T5 at a dealer, some years ago, you could see screws on the rear when fitted so they did not look nearly as neat as the factory mudflaps. Don't know if it's still the case but wouldn't be surprised.
 
Nice, I'd like a set of those wheels for winter. Maybe there should be another thread rather than delays, "Its a boy/girl etc" ;)

We explicitly did not buy any rims, the additional price was not worth it. In Germany alloys are standard but half the options not. So the choice was easy.

I am sure I will be able to get some nice black ones at some stage.

And I like the borbet option for the van too.

Further delays?
Over nine months since our order, all arranged for handover on Thursday, but news today that, despite being in the country for two weeks, VW UK and the folk they use to Transport the Californias haven't managed to get our Beach to the dealer yet! Only 2.5-hour drive (perhaps I should go and get it?)
Dealers are chasing it, but....
Frustrating for us, and for the dealer.
Come on VW, get your act together! :headbang

My wife and I put our deposits on one today and we were told end of March / April 2017. VW South Hereford. Had great service from them. Sales person Mathew Griffiths.

You have my sympathy, I hope you do not have to wait much longer. I would have thought you have a good case for demanding some sort of discount over and above any you may already have negotiated or some other goodwill gesture. Good luck!

Sorry to hear that. It is so frustrating that after waiting all this time , the dealers / VW UK cannot manage to arrange delivery to their showrooms quickly. Ask the sales manager to ask Dealer Principle to get involved as you are extremely unhappy and expect further compensation. See what happens then !
Hopefully it will arrive any day now and i would advise the dealer that you expect the vehicle to be PDI 'd immediately on delivery , otherwise they will keep you waiting another week .
Good Luck and enjoy when it finally arrives.

Thanks, it's already at manager level. The salesman wants us to have it this week as, just to add to complications, he's going away.
 
Frustrated but looking forward to it!!!
Ordered our Cali Beach on 12th March and told 10th July estimated, OK!, bit of a wait but not too bad, this suddenly got put back to week 40, which got put back to week 2 2017. "Great", Why are VW not giving any answers as to why this is happening?.... (still looking forward to it though)!!.

That's rubbish. What spec you gone for. Can you think of anything that might be pushing it back so much. Not acceptable whatever spec you have though. :(

Similar position - Beach ordered April, given estimated build week 41, then week 44, now week 2.

I can't believe it's the spec. Several ordered around the same period and now arriving. It is sounding to me that there is some truth in this dealer allocation theory. Orders being pushed into 2017.

Also similar position and similar spec 150 DSG Beach.
Ordered 9 March, original build week 16 !? (unconfirmed) then pushed to week 37 & then week 43. Sill waiting to go confirmed. Struggling to wait much longer as sold T5 early summer on advice of dealer given their anticipated delivery date.
 
I know that @Loz and myself ordered around the same time, early June and late May. We both have Oceans also was there a post that Mike (@T6 CFO) was also getting one soon?

The only link seems to be that you are getting the Beach? Is that correct? More questions than answers as is usually the case.

VW are not alone in this when we got the Volvo we were expecting it in May 10 but with the MY change from 2010 - 2011 they changed the engine and we collected it in Sept 10.

Yeah this is not right. I ordered a 150 DSG Beach late may and have confirmed week 40 build.
What are VW doing? What is the system? Must be dealers allocations or blind luck and chance.

Perhaps you and Rackind could post your specs, and perhaps we can determine if it might be an option slowing things down, or rule out that possibility. All it would take is a faulty batch of climatronic circuit boards (or similar) to add an extra 3 months delay. But if that were the case, heavens only knows why VW can't cascade the information down to customers through their franchisees.

Grape yellow beach 150 DSG, 3 seat bench.
7 seats, app connect, mfsw, privacy, detachable towbar, electric sliding door, powerlatch boot, extra sliding window, exterior pack, lights in pop top, black awning, sensors and camera, cruise control, comfort mattress, parking heater.
I think that's it!
