VW California Factory Tour Hannover - [Archived]

Factory tour update.

We have had confirmation that we can visit the factory on 18th and 19th of April 2017. We do not have confirmation of how many they can accommodate yet. At present we have 129 members wishing to attend (this includes family where I have been notified). We are asking for 3 tours each of 40 people. Once this last detail has been confirmed a formal announcement will be made. I would ask that if you think that you will not be able to attend, please PM me so that I can remove you from the list which will open a space for another member. Sorry it is a slow process but we really are trying our best.
 
We have discovered that you need an emissions sticker to enter most German cities, a bit like LEZ. As we will need to get into Hanover we will all need one. Does anyone have experience of obtaining these?

Yes! I have bought the latest online thru the Danish AA (FDM). You used to be able to buy them on TÜV and Dekra gas stations in Germany. I am not shure if you still can?

Thanks @Kmann , i myself got a umwelt sticker today here in Belgium at VAB , a sort of RAC like in the UK (ADAC in Germany)
But we where looking for a way to buy them online so the people attending the tour from out the UK can buy it up front . I read not all gasstations in Germany sell them and the official TUV offices are only open at daytime hours.
To have less worries it would be better buying it up front.

The green sticker need to be put on the front windshield and allows you to enter the emmision zones .
Once you got a sticker and been registred you are ok for as long the licence plate stays at the same verhicle so no need to renew.
So people who are planning a Germany trip anyway are doing good to order a sticker.

Please can I amend numbers for April 2017 trip ? We are now a party of 2 (Trebor and Caligirl ) not 4 as originally requested . Sorry to make change . Really looking forward to it after Hotel California's post .

My apologies but I will not be able to make the journey as it is too soon after Easter. It is a very reluctant decision. This would have been my first time in Europe so I wanted a relaxed trip. This will not be possible as I have to be in the UK over Easter. :sad
 
Just a thought: WHERE ARE YOU.....HERE I AM.....On our travels we often see Pop Tops. It would be nice to know if Club members are near and just say hello. An exact same model and colour California pulled near us last month and I used this to say hello. The chat that followed was well worth the effort.

We are giving VIPs a good couple of weeks to sign up then any remaining places will be open to book. We will make an announcement in the New Year.

Just applied for mine. Seems ok.
 
When I posted the link to the Berlin authority back on the 12th December I ordered one for my new T6, it was delivered by Royal Mail within about a week.

Good luck to all of those going to the Factory, I just wish I was able to go with you. The vintage VW meeting at Hessisch Oldendorf in June will take priority this year hopefully with our 1946 Beetle.
