Double Marmite

Like the colour but not an option on the Ocean, definitely a bit of one upmanship for yellow Beach owners.
VW obviously think Ocean buyers are 'dull' in relation to colour choices.

Debadging is something I usually associate with cars where the owner has a low spec model & is pretending it's a higher spec.

I'd tend to think a debadged Beach or Ocean was a Transporter conversion.

I've no issue with it just my thoughts.

You may be right about what people might think. I suppose I'm happy for people to think I'm a low spec conversion. I know the truth! :)

Haha. You're joking yeah?
How can a big yellow van be trying to hide something?
I don't wear clothes with big names and logos on. That doesn't mean I'm trying to hide anything, it's about aesthetics. I think it looks better and cos it's my van I suppose that's what matters. I love that it's a camper and am very proud. As the thread says though, marmite!
;)

You see, I would only de-badge if I had the top of the range model. So as to be incognito, as it were. Kind of reverse snobbery.

I'm debadging because I don't like the name "California" for a European campervan. It just doesn't make any sense to me.

What would you have called it? Skegness maybe?

Not really sure why the name make any difference. I don't mind the California, but I don't like the look of the Ocean/Beach on the side. The typeface is at odds with me, but not so much that I can bothered to change.

I can feel a full list of suggestions coming.

How about:
Craster or Cambois both northern coastal towns

While it's not a very European name, there is almost 30 years of history to it so I like it :)

There's a T25 California which parks in our street but I've not managed to get a photo of it beside ours yet..

I love the colour and the de-badging...I'm just not brave enough to go ahead.

The Volkswagen Skegness.

That would sort the waiting list out! :D

...who needs California?

Skegness Dreamin'
Hotel Skegness (by the Beagles?)

(Apologies to Skegness, I've been there and it's really a very nice place)

Love the yellow. I wanted it but my wife wanted to "play safe" with blackberry so that was my compromise in the deal. BTW Dave, on your recommendation was up at Preston yesterday. What a nice chap Guy is.
Your wife has excellent taste.

Love the colour , seeing these pictures
I should have had the guts to order mine in yellow .
My wife liked the yellow , i played safe with Acapulco blue.

Thanks! We love it. Have to admit that aca blue was our other option. Campervans need to be cheery! Love flat colours best though so went with yellow. If they did the danish blue we would have gone for that.

Also debadged.
Personally thought the beach sticker was reminiscent of something you'd find on a mid 90s Nissan micra.
As regards removing the Cali badges, again personally I have no desire to advertise the fact I'm driving around a £50k van, I'd rather it wasn't so obvious as I think it makes you a bit of a target for vandalism or other negative things. If anyone thinks it's a non Vw conversion then they obviously don't know what they are looking at, those that do will know it's the real deal (not that there's anything wrong with conversions)

Each to their own thoughIMG_4169.JPG

Hi Rob.
I bought some devonports from a t5 converter in Sheffield for 535 delivered and then got VW to fit them when the van arrived. Sold my claytons on here....p.

535 for rims or rims+tires?

I think that would be with tyres, there are usually a few sets on ebay for sale as people offload them off their new van.
