Some do and some don't....but I just decided to join the 'taking a TV camping' gang......I thought I would share my set up just in case it helps others who haven't taken the leap yet.

I bought a Cello 20" LED 12v tv with built in Freeview and DVD Player (from Amazon) and it seems to work pretty well with a thin sheet flexible boosted arial that is stuck to the blacked out window in the Cali wardrobe to keep it out of sight, the 4mm thick co-ax cable just squeezing down the gap between kitchen unit and window, leaving about 2 feet of excess cable and the plug handily hanging down by the 12v socket.

I have bought a 17" DucksBack tv bag for storage (which the 20" TV fits in!) and slots in the wardrobe a treat, it also allows me to hang the TV from the headrest on the passenger seat if I want to watch a movie whilst using the fridge/cooker.

Really pleased with the set up,

That's helpful. I've never seen an aerial like that. Where was it from.

Thanks

I bought it from Amazon:

TV Aerial - Pictek Indoor TV Aerial Super Thin Amplified 50 Miles Range Digital HDTV Antenna with Detachable Amplifier Signal Booster, 10feet Long Cable, White

Looked it up. Reviews a bit mixed. Is it easy to install?

Thanks

Hi,

Clearly I only have limited experience with it so far, there are a lot of reviews on the Amazon site. I took the chance and both at home and on the C&CC site near Dartmoor its worked fine using the booster that comes with it, maybe both have reasonably strong digital signals??

Installation is as simple as its likely to get, There is a sticky pad on the base and 4 sticky 'spots' you put where you want (as per picture) I stuck it on the blacked out glass and fed the lead behind the plastic sliding blind in the wardrobe and squeezed it down the gap between the Kitchen unit and the window frame leaving it dangling behind the passenger seat. The separate booster USB plug goes into the TV USB to power it.

Hope this helps.
