My 800x600x410 Zarges Eurobox fits neatly onto my Thule Easybase.

At 157 litres it is half the capacity of my Thule EasyBag which is 315 litres, but it does take a Vango Kela III complete with carpet, pump, groundsheet and figure of eight, with the obvious advantage that it can be stuffed wet into the box if necessary.

I have had the Zarges box for many years, and used it to haul the weekly shop home from the supermarket by bike while I was going through a 'green' phase in my life.

I've used this kind of alu box extensively for travelling with technical kit by various means of transport. The Zarges brand boxes are excellent, but not cheap.

If you want something like that but are on a tighter budget it's worth shopping around. Potterton UK used to sell good German-made (I think) boxes although I haven't compared prices recently.

Looks good @Amarillo - does it move out of the way sufficiently to open the boot?
The box lifts off, the carrier's rear bracket folds down, and after some slight modification of the carrier with a hacksaw and file, the boot opens with the carrier in place. (I class myself one grade below a DIY novice, a DIY incompetent, and managed the carrier modification under the somewhat more competent direction of my three-year-old son.)

Great bit of kit, I use a BAK-RAK, dose the same job. No need to lift the tail gate if loaded right, until you get to your destination. 20140521_095804.jpg 20150919_125658.jpg
