Our new California Adventures Channel

Yeah I think there will be some points which we didn't mention because we've never thought of them. This is also possibly because our California is used every day as a daily driver. But you make some good points.

I'm pretty certain our 12V socket on the side of the kitchen worktop is powered by the leisure battery, I seem to remember reading that in our user manual and we always have the engine on when opening and closing the roof as recommended by the manual too.

I'll address some of the points you've made in a future video though so thank you.

We are still so overwhelmed with how popular the videos seem to be. They are being watched all over the world and as each video is published they grow quicker and quicker, very rewarding. We have so much more to come too.

For people intersted in a Cali watching your vids it is certainly a better way to discover the Cali than looking at the VW promovideo's , they are not giving much info in those . Just a Cali in a nice surronding and stunning scenery's .
I am not on facebook but look at your vids thru the forum.

In just over 2 months we've managed to achieve 500 subscribers to the channel. We are both gobsmacked!! The support all you guys continue to give is incredible. Thank you so much!

It is us who should be thanking you...

On Thursday night we wild camped with my two little boys on the edge of Fernworthy Reservior. After exhausting the boys and dogs by kite flying and playing at the water's edge, we all snuggled up in the Cali, all six of us, on the lower bed, watching a DVD of Paddington on the TV/DVD player you recommended.

Love it! Sounds fantastic!

Hi Shaun

So which dealer did you use to purchase your Cali, and how do you rate them?
I've only ever bought private so far, but very tempted to spec my own.

I always use breeze in totton (Southampton) for warranty and servicing, have found Derek in there very helpful.

We plan to use Breeze in Totton for any work we need doing as I've heard good stuff about them. Shame they don't sell Cali's.

We bought from Guildford and after our experience I can't really recommend them. We were very happy with the price we managed to get from them (which I suppose is the most important thing) and it was good of them to let us borrow one for a few days but once we had placed a deposit their customer service was pretty poor. They never once returned our phone calls and they made so many mistakes with things which on a few occasions resulted them in asking us for more money. It made it an extremely stressful time on the run up to collection.

Unfortunately I've had pretty poor experiences from so many dealerships regardless of how much money I've spent on vehicles, that I'm starting to accept it's the norm. The best experiences for me have been the cheapest cars I've bought I think. Possibly because I expect less!

Loving the new video Shaun, Lizzie and Bentley.

You've given me a great idea for another use of our Cali when I'm on my night shifts - though breaks are often a luxury in the NHS!

The site looks lovely - another one to add to our 'places to visit' list!

Hi Shaun

What drone have you got? I'm thinking about buying one, and your footage looked rally good?
Ps can't believe you made the wife and Bentley sleep outside!

Ha ha! All the more space for me!
It's a DJI Mavic Pro. Incredible piece of kit!

Congrats on your weddingplans ....!
I do hope you use the Cali as ceremony drive...
And maybe you get to share us some pictures who knows a movie :D

Shame you are not taking Bentley on your roadtrip , our 11y old Vizsla (Mieke) has visited 10 diffrent countries so far in the Cali , been up to 3000m altitude mountains . We take her everywhere , i can't imagine leaving her at home.
Anyway on your honeymoon the two of you have more time for yourselves without the dog.

Our dog goes everywhere with us as well, I would hate the thought of leaving her behind as she loves a holiday too. Also you are going to some of the most dog friendly countries on the planet, never had a problem taking ours in any restaurant in France or Switzerland.

We are taking our two border collies with us to:
France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany again, Luxembourg, Belgium again, France again, UK, France yet again, Spain, Poland, Spain again, France double yet again, Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Germany yet again, France triple yet again and back to the UK during our year long farewell tour of the European Union, with probable excursions to Gibraltar, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino, the Vatican City and Lichtenstein.

I appreciate what you're saying and he will be coming with us on future trips to Europe... but this is also our honeymoon!

He will have a great time with his mum and sister and will come back to you shattered and ready to give you the biggest welcome ever. The weather could be very hot and I would imagine he feels the heat with that thick coat.
We leave our dogs when we go on a cruise. They all go together and are fine. As long as you have someone you trust looking after them, which you do.

Heat and the dogs is one of the reasons we are exploring northern Europe in summer and southern Europe in winter.

Hi guys

Make sure you get yourselves an asci card as your save an arm and a leg on campsites!
2 people, electric hook up and for next time one pet (you do see some crazy people in there big whites with cats!!!). Out of season only should be ok for September.
Handy bit of kit if you are camping on a site in the cold with the electric hook up, is an electric blanket! I used one when in the alps in Jan and slept in the roof as zeb (crazy collie gets the lower bed).
I would ditch the diy sides, you have a nice posh Cali and drone treat yourselves to a drive away awning, or just a beach wind breaker if you want something easy to put up with instant privacy.
Con grats on the wedding.
Ps try and do a spot of wild camping your love it, 100% better than a field with neighbours.
One more thing get a mozzy net for the sliding door (brandrup do a really good one).

We are going to treat ourselves to a drive away awning at some stage but we really want to actually see them up before committing. We will probably wait until the Camping Show in February 2018 as they will have them all together in one place and it'll be useful for comparing. The awning sides are just for when we want a bit of shade. If we just wind the awning out, when Bentley is on his long lead he just gets wrapped around the legs, and I'm scared he'll bend them so they are hopefully it's a way of stopping that. We will see how that pans out.
Thanks for the advice about an acsi card. We will get one bought along with a mozzy net.
And we are definitely planning some wild camping, I've got a list of places I want to try out.
Thanks for the tips

I would also try and get to a Cali meet as the information you gain from Cali owners is invaluable, at the meet last year there was a wide range of drive away awnings beeing used and was useful speaking to actual Cali owners about pro's and cons's, this helped us buying the right awning in the end rather than something we would hardly use.
