Apparently I've broken a small bone in my foot.

Albert may have to wait until April 2018 to be support vehicle at the VMLM :(

A little gutted right now. Three months of hard training then a slip on a rock whilst walking my dogs along the beach. Seeing a foot and bone man tomorrow.

It's not over until the whistle blows and that's not until 6.15pm on the 23rd but at this moment I can't even get a shoe on so not good, but hey-ho, who knows :(

I first read that as rag-and-bone man, then thought I hope it's not as bad as that. But hope you get some good news anyway.

RICE with cherries :) and.... once the medical professionals have finished shaking their heads and giving me the "4-6 weeks" bit I can start playing with moleskin tape and buddying two toes together.
 
Fingers (cant do toes) crossed that any swelling will reduce enough to get shoes on and the tape will give enough support. VMLM will let you defer to 2018 due to injury so dont risk long term damage though.
 
Runners rule number 1. Do not run when you are injured. I have broken this rule which is why it is now rule number 1. If you can defer it will be even better as you will have good motivation for the next year with a target at the end.

I agree Mike. In normal circumstances. This is not normal. I will know tomorrow when the bone man gives me all my options. I do have Berlin in September to look forward to but.... well, always a but.

I think a lot of thanks also go to the St Johns ambulance crew at mile 18 who changed all my dressings and slapped on another load of bio-freeze to keep me going. Brilliant work people, unsung hero's at so many public events.
 
Ouch.......
I ran London,,,,,,just once, and despite a years training ended up with a blister the size of my fist on my instep.
I was one of those funny folk almost crawling over the line,,,,,but, like you, I finished
 
I have been a bit quiet these last couple of weeks whilst I wrestled with this painful problem.

Yesterday I finally resolved it :D

WOW - very well done. That is an achievement without the injury but with it....you are a very determined lady.
