I am looking for sheets for my new California T6 Ocean

Upstairs mattress has a separate piece and one end and no cut out for reading lamp

downstairs I have mattress that has one section on top of metal frame that's 4 inch and two fold out sections about 1 inch thick o/s rear corner is shaped this was supplied by VW

I'm asking what do I need to order as almost ready to leave for my trip any ideas for good fitted sheets in the case of downstairs want to fold up when stowed

thanks in advance

I use a single plain cotton duvet cover on the downstairs mattress

Agree with madwomanne. A single duvet cover works on both upstairs and downstairs matresses. It is a fairly good fit downstairs - very slightly too short when mattress unfolded but good enough and folds up with the mattress very well.

The duvet cover is a bit too long and looser on the width for the upstsirs mattress but again - good enough.

It is also possible to buy fitted sheets for a 4ft mattress (search on Amazon) which I guess ought to be close enough too.

We now sell the genuine Brandrup sheets for the upstairs bed, really great fit and usual Brandrup quality.

A poly-cotton fitted sheet. For £80. You ARE having a laugh, yes? Or is it a misprint and they're actually long-staple Egyptian linen with hand-stitched satin edges?

And what does "temperature-equalising" mean, exactly??

:D

Fitted double with a bit of stitching at the corners to reduce the size to fit lower bed and cheap double fitted upstairs with excess tucked under mattress.

I have a single sheet upstairs with extra deep sides for thick mattresses. It fits a treat and stays in position. Cost about £7 I think.

Kind of agree, we only bought these in as loads of people kept requesting we stock them. We sold out of the first batch of a dozen in 48 hours.

As a man I'm totally confused sheets are things one has on ones bed fully fitted and changed regularly by my better half , now over 47 years I struggle to know what to buy her each year perhaps a sewing machine I ask myself , its really a nightmare , when I purchased the California it says it comes with a mattress downstairs which turned out to be only over the rear metal part , I then ordered from VW a mattress in 3 sections rear is 3" and then 2 thinner sections of 1.5 in so what do I need to fit these sheets and fold up pay £75 with the cost of the mattress is over £500 my bed at home has memory foam sheets 32 in TV fitted for less
Thanks for all the messages and I wont be buying brand

Looks like I am in the minority, I have the Brandrup sheets, in fact I have two sets so one can be in the wash. I got fed up will ill fitting sheets upstairs so we wanted something that looked neat and tidy. The Brandrup ones are a nice tight fit all round and do look smart ( even though I am the only one that see's them) Yes, I agree they are over priced but so was my Cali !!

Lol Some funny posts on the forum recently. Anyway victor your not alone I also have them fitted upstairs. Very happy with them so far. As for the price compared to the brandrup seat covers I thought they were reasonably priced.

I wouldn't have thought so why I can see your post

We've got a set of Brandrup sheets fitted upstairs as well, perfect fit. I found ordinary sheets invariably came untucked when the bed was put in the up position & there was always an untidy bit around the velcro that secures the light. I paid about half price though, found some old stock on eBay.

We use the downstairs bed and have the Comfort Mattress - a small double fitted sheet is a good fit and still allows the topper to fold properly.

I use Dunelm 3/4 double sheets for the upstairs bed - it is exactly 120cm the width of the bed. The length is fine for the extra bit. I also use a single duvet but it's only me. Never use the lower bed but would imagine they would be perfect for it too. They're about £10 for 100% cotton (which I prefer) or less for the poly cotton ones.

We use a jersey single sheet on the roof bed, which is stretchy & fits neatly. From Muji, or they are currently on special at Lidl, v cheap.
For the downstairs bed (which we only use occasionally), we keep an old single duvet in a cover & use that as a mattress topper & sheet combined (with another duvet over). Like a Duvalay but cheaper!

We found a really old jersey double sheet, and stitched up a sort of "pocket" at one end to hook over one end of the mattress. V. cheap, stays in place, and you can leave it on there when you bring the bed/roof down. Why spend more?

Cheap single duvet cover for downstairs mattress and single fitted sheet for upstairs work a treat

For the bed upstairs we use Bella Donna jersey fitted sheets 100 x 200 cm. They fit beautifully tight and are a bit elastic (97 percent cotton double twisted yarn and 3 percent elastane).

After washing you might think they will not fit anymore, but they still do. We bought a pair, so that we can change after a week. Bit pricy though with 50 euro per sheet, but worth every penny we think. In warm weather they feel like breathing. Under the sheet we have a thin molton. Still fits under the roof, even though we have a German cold foam mattrass of almost 6 cm high, bought from Calicap.de.

Don't take the gamble on Amazon buying "B quality" for half the price, as you may end up with torn sheets.

Regards from Amsterdam,

Marc.
