IMG_0285.JPG IMG_0287.JPG Hi
Does anyone know why this was fitted to one of the rails limiting the movement of the seat!!
I've managed to remove it & pictures attached for comments!!
Many thanks
Peter

On the California it stops the seat in the correct place for folding down and lining up with the rear shelf.

As Loz sais,,,,,.but I took mine out, it makes things much more flexible.....you can get to the tool kit without emptying the back.....you can create a space behind the seat for a loo stop, you can make the rear with the shelf out , a great place for carrying furniture etc

There's two - one at the front and one at the back. The front one stops you moving the seat forward to the lift out position where it could tip forward in an emergency stop. But as long as you are cognoscent of that you get a much more flexible space by removing them both.

I have never tried lifting mine out....doesn't it need to be right forward....to far for a person to be able to sit on it??
Just out of interest, though I am not sure I will ever need to. I managed to move lots of my mothers things , just by having it far forward, and putting things in the seat

It would be handy to remove it to get a full length loading space. But its a 3 person job as it is so heavy so not sure I ever will. But removing the stop allows me to move it forward far enough to be able to carry bikes upright in the back using a fork stand.

After some faffing about & expletives, I've removed the stopper.

Shift the bench as far forward as possible, which allows the rails to be prised apart slightly and then remove the stopper.

The rear stopper is inserted from the front, then the seat and then the front stopper. I didn’t think you could remove them that way.

I just did not remove it. But moved it furter foreward just before the plasric cover. Now i can reach the towball and emergency assecories that is mounted behind the bench. Superp! Thanks for the tip.

Same here. I managed to loosen the stopper and move it backwards, but it somehow got stuck and I cannot get it out
