What's the deal with 907 gas bottles?

If you are going over into France DON'T BUY A REFILL BEFORE YOU LEAVE ENGLAND England!

907 refills are about €22.75 in the French supermarkets. Just go collect your full cylinder off the shelf and present it and the empty one at the checkout. It often causes complete confusion but you will get there in the end. Tell the checkout operator it's for 'recharger'.

14 euros in Portugal...!

Chorley Bottle Gas are doing the 907 bottle full - next-day delivery for £43.99 ! Seems a good deal and now I don't need to source a bottle, then go to fill it. http://chorleybottlegas.co.uk/

A refill is £25 alone.

(I've ordered one in advance of the new van arrival in 2 weeks...)

you can pick up these bottles for £10-£15 look in your free paper for camping gas bottles in your area you don't need to bother it will be rusty bashed around and empty just exchange it for a refill anywhere
be cheeky like I did and ask for a clean painted one tell them its for your new van

When you collect your new vehicle take along your gas cylinder and get them to test it works in my case the gas lighter did not work means a return and several hours of your time wasted

Also take along a mains lead and 13amp plug and socket lead and get your dealer to test

This will save you hours if there is a problem

Lastly store the short mains lead supplied somewhere safe for when you travel outside of the UK but remember when you go abroad it has not been tested !!!

Forgot down load the Check list ( VIP member ) and send a copy to your dealer telling him this is what I expect to see ( don't forget you have front mats included in your purchase

Great service from Chorley Bottle Gas, Thank You for the recommendation!

I bought 2 empty ones from Towsure. I think they were about £12 each. Just exchange for full ones at circa £25. Nice to have the flexibility of a full spare in the garage.

Want to really save money buy a Gaslow 2.7 bottle with a direct fill and a regulator.

Costs about £2 in LPG so you will recoup rapidly

For travellers visiting Spain, the cost of a new (full) 907 bottle at a local ferreteria (hardware store) will be about 41 - 46 euros. Refills vary in price from about 17.50 - 1950 euros. Campsites tend to charge more, so a visit to the local town can save a few euros. VW charge 115 euros + 31% taxes if you order the bottle for supply with a new cali'. Needless to say I declined their kind offer!

19.00 Euros in Normandy during August. Shelf quickly cleared out though.

Highflyer..........Chorley Bottled Gas (actually in Adlington).....sorry to correct you but it's £10 for the bottle and £25 for the refill...bought my first one yesterday

Is there anything else you need to buy to connect up?

A very helpful thread for 'beginners', thank you. Even though we live in Scotland Chorley Gas is sending my first full bottle as I write :)

No, just the kit
Afternoon all, we’re looking to sort our Campingaz ahead of collecting our van. We can see we need the 907 size and we’ve read that we can buy a used bottle and exchange it for a full one (and also seen how much the prices have gone up over the years!)

I’m still not clear if we need to buy anything else to attach the bottle to the van. Is someone able to clarify please? I’m not sure from the quoted posts if “just the kit” is referring to the bottle with gas, or something extra.
