I normally camp on leopold 111 alan but I have heard it's not allowed any more. They love towing cars away in Ypres. I was with group there in 2014 and whilst we were having coffee one of our party looked out of the window at the pleasant view of his car going past on a low loader :shocked

I have an apartment this year as I will be with family.
 
We sleep downstairs - it's cosy but also easy to get out of bed when nature calls!
 
Upstairs for me by myself with a large necked screw top bottle ;) for saving a trip downstairs.
Rarely loose a pillow as have a wide sleeping bag with head area that contains it.
Two step ladder from a boat chandlery hung on head rest and I'm up and down like a young un.
Wife sleeps downstairs with the two small dogs in their baskets next to her. Each with a blanket on.
Pota Potti 335 in the gap for her use. Used to go down to use it but the camper waddle woke her up and then put the bashful bladder under pressure to perform efficiently.
 
For the last six nights I've slept upstairs with the two boys (ages 3 and 2). I hope to be joining my wife downstairs on the king size super comfy Brandrup Beach mattress soon. Always use the safety net, A boy fell down the one time we didn't - luckily no damage to the van, and the boy recovered after a cuddle.

We’re not ready for a bungalow yet, so it’s always upstairs for us (more room). Oh, heads to the pointy end and no ladders (yet). Zonesleep topper, together with foam ear plugs. Downstairs is left ready for breakfast feast.
 
We have just done a weekend of down stairs and will be doing a weekend of upstairs when we go to the NEC for the Motorhome and Caravan exhibition. So we'll let you know which we prefer.
I noticed when I put the roof up that there are four plastic loops on the roof. Is this for an elasticated netting to keep mags, phones, keys etc in or does it have some other function?

That's for the supposedly CHILD containment net. Stop the kids falling out.

Nothing wrong with Bungalows - we have a 6 Bedroom bungalow - and have lived here for 40 + years.
No worries of babies falling down stairs and much safer if there is a fire, also lots of garden.:thumb

Live in a 5 bed bungalow, always sleep downstairs in the Cali, lost all the hair on my head. I suddenly feel very old and I'm not even 40 yet!!!!
 
Driving back from France with my friend - I slept upstairs, her down. Every time she moved, van swayed. Every time I moved, she thought I would crash through roof. She's very unimpressed with sleeping arrangements. May not persuade her back in. Oh and there was a daddy long legs too and she was with Archie. Laugh every time I think about it

Tried the pointy end but it felt too claustrophobic.
 
We sleep upstairs and are both 63 . No Problem getting up and down. Only slept downstairs a couple of times as we don’t find it as comfy as up.we slept with our heads near the opening end for the first year then tried the other way ( heads to the low end) phone and bottle of water goes on the ledge at the back and its ideal,easier getting in and out.Also don’t have the disruption downstairs,husband gets up before me ,I can sleep on..then he passes me up a coffee

You may impress her when sleeping on the same level ?!
We sleep upstairs (head to the opening) all the time and recently discovered the advantages of zipping together 2 sleeping bags to form a “double wide” sleeping bag – perfect for a cozy night of sleeping for two. Turning and getting in /out is easier than with 2 seperate bags. Disadvantage : her cold feet.
 
We always stay up top. Use an amazing Fiamma 2 piece ladder that fits perfectly to access up top.
We also pull the sliding panel across and that stops pillows, books or anything else falling down.
On those occasions when we sleep downstairs we get organised with kettle etc. Made that mistake once.
Enjoy finding the best way for you.
 
Upstairs in the penthouse everytime

Pull the shutter across slightly never lost a pillow yet
 
Upstairs whenever possible.

Hello,
Could you please post details of the Fiamma ladder which I can't find anywhere. I'm trying not to fork out for the ridiculously priced Maxxcamp product.

Top tip about getting the 'breakfast things' out the night before. I'll add that to the list of things to remember for our first proper camp.
Going away with a friend soon. Based on the comments here it'll be me up top and she downstairs for extra loo-access.

just as a matter of intrest which bed do all you beach owners prefer
top or bottom and why ?
