baffled a bit. 2 air safes. 1 for manual tailgate and 1 for electronic. do they mean the power latching when they say electronic? or do they mean one of them tailgates that you can close by pressing a button like on some cars? mine is a t6 beach. I shut it manually but then I can hear the power latch operate. I tried a search and couldn't answer this seemingly dumb question. cheers.

As far as I understand: Electric means shut manually until the point where it connects and closes auto. Have a look at this description:

I ended up buying the wrong one because I didn't understand the descriptions either :( Still seems to work alright though...

Is there a push-button function to close the tailgate on a Cali ?
No
So , electronic means power latching
Manual is for older models or panel vans maybe ?

cheers, i'll getr one ordered now. nice 1

Can't seem to get mine to work....seems to lock but a wiggle of the door and its open.

Is there a way to spot the difference between the 2 versions?

This was the one i was given for a 2018 Ocean with power latching. Is this correct?

That's the one I have, which is the wrong one for a Cali:

You can see the difference in the pics here, I appear to be using it all wrong anyway but it seems fine...

How annoying.....will have a word with the shop as the was the one given to me on there open day last year.

Thanks
I'm in the same boat - contacted the shop and they said to take off the plastic cap which is the only difference. Not sure why there are two versions if that's the case but it did work !

The difference is more than just the plastic cap, but if it works it works...

This is how I use mine, attach to the van like this:

Then close the boot and guide the end it so it would shut like this:

If the guys from the shop read this, there has been confusion leading to some buying the wrong one but also in how to make the "wrong" one work.
The message from the shop to me reads
"the airsafe will be fine - if you have an SE/Ocean it will have electric close - just pull of the plastic sheath off this is the only difference (as to not scratch the non electric close)"
People here say the plastic sheath isn't the only difference?
Confused

I wrestled with mine for ages at the beginning too and thought it must be wrong... But, then found it worked fine without removing and plastic but you have to manually guide it into place for the final bit until the self close motor kicks it. Then it's perfect.
