so i have not driven my T6 California for 2 weeks and the main battery is flat
4.8 V !
took 15 mins linked to my mondeo via jump leads to get to the point where it would even attempt to start.

the van is not even a year old, do i really have to drive it at least once a fortnight to stop the battery going flat ?

I dont, suggest you have a technical issue or perhaps have drained the battery opening/closing doors etc

That sounds like a problem of parasitic drain. Have you added anything like a dash cam that might be draining it?
It might also be a problem with the BCU not sleeping properly.

If you leave your van unused for several weeks make sure everything is switched off - including the control panel.

I have got a dash cam, but i thought the power sockets switched off after 30 mins like the radio does ?

That'll be it then.
Sockets are permanent. If you want to hardwire it normally they have a permanent and a switched so that they sleep properly.

do you know if the hookup charges the main battery ?
the manual is not clear on this

If it is the same as the T5, the socket on the top of the dash is to the leisure battery (or should be) I tend to use that for my dash cam.

Funny but since the flat battery episode my water level indicators have both stopped working do I have to reset something?

Try this and Please report back.

1. Hold down the centre of the rotary button together with the menu button (button below with the squares on it)

2. You will get the hidden menu.

3. Rotate the rotary button to get to "VW diagnose" and select this by pressing on the centre of the rotary button.

4. If no errors are present it will display "no errors"

5. If Errors are present then a list of errors will appear

6. Press the centre of the rotary button again to delete all the errors

7. Repeat process above just to check that errors have dissapeared!

8. Re-configure the time and date if neccesary.

It shows no errors
We did have to reset the date after the flat battery and that went ok
The other odd thing was that for days the display was flashing the van symbol as if the roof was up but that now seems to have cured itself

Is there a common connection for the waste and fresh water sensors that might have failed?

Could be earth connection, not sure where the earth sud is for those bits, need to look at the wiring.

looks like all the wiring is intact
so i guess it's back to the garage for a warranty fix
can't believe a flat battery can affect the water level sensors

i finally got a chance to take another look at this
I thought that if i pulled the fuse for the control panel it might reset it, as the problem started after the battery went flat
however the supplement hand book says the panel is fuse 21 under the passenger seat, however there is no fuse 21 that space is empty !

does anyone know which fuse feeds the control panel on a 2017 T6 Ocean ?

Hi might be worth hard resetting the unit if you are happy to remove it then disconnect all the wiring conectors 3 of them leave unit disconnected for 10 mins then reconnect them in size order small to large.

80amp fuse Under the passenger seat. The fuse unit is at the front of the seat the fuse is towards the back of the carrier

ok so i pulled the fuse for the control panel and left it out for 10 mins
then put it back and hey presto fresh water gauge is now working !

but waste water only works if you fill the waste tank to the top !
the half full level is not displaying
strange that all was fine before the battery went flat

As far as I am aware the Waste Water Indicator Only shows Full/Empty, nothing in between.
