Things you didn't know your van did

I don't think you actually need the Indicators On for this to happen.

It would seem it works such that below about 20mph if you turn the wheel OR if you put the indicator on with the wheel straight it will illuminate the relevant side.

I’ve just changed my fog lights to LED from incandescent. What a difference. Matches the headlights now as well. Win win.

And to think in the past Yellow fog lamps were All the rage and actually did work in a pea-super.

I'm not sure i agree with the fog lights coming on whilst cornering at low speed etc, we are supposed to be deterring fog light use unless it's absolutely necessary. I find them distracting on other vehicles especially at junctions, coming on then going off etc. Rant over

You can adjust the shelf height in the main right hand cupboard by 3cm left hand side appears to have no adjustment (MY19).

Found out over the last few weeks, my current van doesn’t seem to have heated wing mirrors...?
Seriously Volkswagen, £60k large vehicle where wing mirrors are vital...???

Sorry, this should be in...

Should have them, standard on the Ocean. Have you got the little logo by the mirror control??

Thats so the thetford porta pottie can fit in. On earlier Calis you had to drill the new holes yourself to raise the shelf to make room.

Mine has heated mirrors but now idea how you switch them on, presume they are automatic ?

If you turn the mirror control knob anti clockwise (from memory) it turns the heating element on. Effectively it’s the opposite position to the folding position. Hope that makes sense.

Thanks I'll give that a go next time we have a frost, ill check the manual as well.

Larry, your right, it has...
The icon is hidden when sitting in the driving position. Just been out and had a look.
To be honest, I presumed it to be automatic. Will probably leave it in the on position going forward.
:thanks

Don't leave them in the on position all the time, if you do they will come on every time you start up your van and they "may" prematurely burn out the element. I have known this on other VW's. They are relay controlled so will actually only work for a few minutes each time but not good to have them when not needed.

They can be set to come on automatically with the heated rear screen if you want using VCDS or even Carista does it I think.

They are designed to be left on all the time. There isn't a relay, they are either on full time or off. mine have been on full time for the last 5 years & have yet to fail.

My old Cali Beach had heated wings on for 6 years and never had a failure...?
Might risk it again.

I thought you left them switched to the on position but they only heat up when you turned the heated rear screen on.

My van doesn’t have heated rear screen
