Osram do a nice plug in LED reading light which can be purchased for £20 - beware some on line retailers selling for 350% higher than this!

I've got the hard wired version as a replacement for the upstairs bed light. It fits the existing screw holes but is not as bright.
Me too. I’ve fitted it with the arm facing forward so it doesn’t get ‘chopped off’ by the roof bed coming down. Tucks in the space above the shutter when you close the roof or along the side ‘shelf’ when its up

I've got the 12V socket version installed as replacement for broken original. Took a ridiculous amount of research to find a 12V socket that would fit in the location without damaging the van (and offers an extra socket for phone charging upstairs!).
Works well but a little dim.

Where did you find the suitable socket in the end?

Hi, I also want to replace my broken upstairs light with a 12v socket. Sounds like you have done all the research, would you be able to tell me where you got the bits from etc?
