Just installed my all black 110w Solar panel - Thanks Roger at Solar Camper Solutions for your patience with my questions and such comprehensive instructions.

I THINK it works but it’s absolutely tipping down so not much anything is being generated!

I made a template and had a local company make the aluminium plate for me. I just need to tidy the wires (clips arriving tomorrow) and make sure nothing falls off.

That is a slick looking well designed mounting panel.
What thickness is the Ali panel ?
Congrats looks great

That looks super cool :thumb
What do you now have to do?
Glue the panel onto it.

Thanks. No - the panel IS already on it - it’s an all black panel mounted on a black plate.
I’ve got some self adhesive clips arriving tomorrow to tidy the roof cables and I need to secure the charger which is just resting in the jack compartment at the moment - I’m going to use Heavy Duty Velcro for that but leaving a gap behind it for cooling.

Thanks. It’s 3mm thick, black powder coated aluminium.

Great job, do you get any wind noise?

Thanks Not sure yet as haven’t been up to motorway speeds but it’s only about 6mm thick so hopefully it should be fairly quiet. (Famous last words!) will report back after the weekend.

Nice, it will be nice to see if it is as good as a non black panel since I guess this will get much warmer and thus have lesser power?

I doubt you will have any additional wind noise, i don't notice any difference with roof bars on my van.

Thats a great little rack, i think Roger needs to start using these instead of his current set-up.
Much more slick finish...

That’s a good point. I’ll be out on Saturday and it’s ‘expected’ to be sunny and 19 deg - will post the results if I can. What would people expect from a regular panel in such conditions? (This is a 110w but i think regular colour are 120w in comparable size?)

I have two 120w panels and I get about 160 which seems normal according to Roger.
So about 70w on your panel sounds right.
Agree with the mount, very clean.

Good point about the black, it looks nice, but the 'normal' panels are mostly black so shouldn't think it would be much different?

Looks fab and much nicer than L shaped aluminium bars. Is the curve rolled into the sheet or did you simply bend it up when fitting?

Thanks, it has curve rolled into it to match the roof contour.

Is that company willing to make any more of those plates? I might be interested :)
