Rear door tailgate struts

Hi
Have just bought, but have not mounted, the fiamma bike rack. Was wondering if I can and should upgrade the tailgate struts to cope with the extra weight of one bike? Any recommendations on this from people in the know?

Hi struts should already be upgraded so should be ok.

You should have the 1250 struts fitted. Look on side of struts. The lifting power depends on the ambient temperature. In summer it can be quit difficult to shut the tailgate and easier in winter.

I have the Fiamma Pro x2 bike rack on a T5 and it stays up without propping with x2 aluminium road bikes on it summer and winter (UK) with the 1250 struts.
