Hi all, good to be part of this group. My husband and I live in North Wales with our 2 kids. My son is a keen surfer and we’ve been thinking about buying a Beach but we would like to know what is the biggest surf board we could get inside the van If you get the 2 seater bench? What is the length of the cab from the boot to the back of the driver’s seat? Many thanks

Hi Nicola,

I have a 3 seat Beach, so I cannot answers you specific question, , although I have had a 6’ 7” board inside the van with 4 occupants, the board easily fitted in nose down between the gap in the front seat, tail up (fins down) towards the tail gate.

Why do you want the board in the van? Is their height restriction?
A set of roof bars are secure and relatively inexpensive (there are two foot pack options for the Thule bars, one lower profile than the others, and they are relatively quick to take off the van.

We can check that for you tomorrow morning :)

:welcomeWelcome Nicola, buy an Ocean and strap the largest surf board you want to roof bars with a full camper conversion inside.

And that would differ from a two seater beach how ? You’ve been reading too much !

:welcome I can’t help with the surf board question, but am sure you will get plenty of opinions and experience in here that should help you.

In a two seater Beach you could easily remove the storage box, which would then give you the full length of the rear of the vehicle. With the multiflex board out, no height restrictions either, and tethering points on the rails for fixing.
Alternatively, rest on the multiflex board & box, though strapping down will require more thought.

We surf but (long)boards are never inside - do you know you can get locking tie down straps? (Just a thought as it was a new one on me when I first discovered them)
