In comparison to the original VW T6/T6.1 Bike rack (which is also manufactured by Thule) this rack arguably has a better colour scheme. The locking thumb screws clamps are upgraded with a torque thumb screws as to not over tighten, it can take E-bikes (making sure you keep under the weight limits) and has the new upgraded ratchet pump action wheel straps. It also comes with all the tools to fit to the T6 and the protective tape and fits to the tailgate exactly the same as the original VW rack.
The Thule WanderWay 2 is a top of the line tailgate bike rack for the VW T6. It is designed to transport 2 bikes, with the WanderWay 3rd/4rd adapter the loading capacity can be increased to up to 4 bikes. Thanks to the raised position of the rack, the view of the rear lights is maintained for following traffic.
This Rack unfolded extends the van by circa 82cm when unfolded and 40cm when folded up.

We are so happy with the service from California club -CampervanBits- brilliant product that I think will prove to be very popular. Sleek new sturdy. We wanted this rack as we only have 2 bikes. However I understand you can buy additions for up to 4 bikes. Don’t even notice it on the back of the van with cycles attached. Would highly recommend quality product.

Easy to fit. Easy to remove. Holds two bikes incredibly well on long journeys. Adult bikes protrude over the roof line so I remove the saddles to save a bit on fuel.

What a difference! The Thule oozes quality, it is exceptionally well made and was almost a joy to fit, in under 30 minutes from scratch on a freezing cold day.
The locking system is ingenious in it’s effectiveness and simplicity and the rack can have additional rails added if I need them.
Expensive yes, but it is a quality item and will provide piece of mind when driving.
