Would anyone be interested in a set of five 17" Cascavel (Anthracite) diamond turned alloy wheels. Four of these wheels were removed from our new Beach in October, almost as soon as we got it home from the dealers so have only covered about 50 miles. The fifth one was purchased from Ebay as a spare and is in the same as new condition with similar minimal tyre wear. They are all in mint condition with no marks or scratches. All five wheels have Dunlop SP Maxx Sport 235/55 ZR17 103W Extra load tyres fitted with only about 50 miles wear.

Reason for sale: I wanted Devonport alloys which I prefer. They were an option on every T6 vehicle except the Beach so I had to pay £1200 for the set of four Cascavels! It wasn't a choice as I'd specced the 17" chassis. I had initially thought of keeping them but I now have Devonports with Goodyear four season tyres fitted, so won't be needing them. The fifth wheel cost me extra and was an insurance policy just in case one became damaged.

I would like £900 for all five please.

These wheels/tyres were a £1200 option. I paid a further sum for the fifth wheel on top.

Individual identical wheels are currently being advertised on Ebay for £180 each (new) and that's an Ebay price! (VW would charge a lot more). So five would be a minimum of £900 just for the wheels.

The cheapest these Dunlop tyres seem to retail at online appears to start at around £110 each before fitting etc.
With fitting at around £50, these tyres fitted would be a minimum of £600. So you would be getting the tyres for free. :thumb

Hey Borris. If I bought these can I just do a straight swap with the 16” Claytons on my T6 Beach?

Hello Mrpraline,
Yes, putting 17" Cascavels on in place of 16" Claytons isn't a problem. It's a straight swop then torque up the wheel bolts to 180nm, check the tyre pressures are correct and finally reset the tyre pressure monitor. Job done.
That's exactly what I did on my previous Beach. The only problem would occur if you tried to fit 16" wheels to a Beach with 17" brakes. They just wouldn't fit.

Sorry, I miss interpreted your thread at first.

Best wishes
Paul

Ha - that would have been a pretty cheeky suggestion! I was indeed asking if they’d fit. Thanks ever so much. Unfortunately my other half’s vetoed them though - she wants the black ones! Sorry about that.

Warm regards, Paul

No problem. The Ladies are always right! :thumb

I hope you find what you are looking for. If she changes her mind I could be purseuded to deliver.

Hello James,
Yes, still available.

Best wishes
Paul

Would you be prepared to take £700 ?
And can I ask you’re location or if you ever come near Oxford?

Regards

James

Hello James,
Thanks for your offer.
I won't take £700, however I am prepared to come down to £850 if you were able to collect. I live near Canterbury. Alternatively, I could deliver them later this week for £900.

All five wheels are in as near to new condition as you are ever likely to find.

I'm not that desperate to sell them as I'm not in need of the cash or the space they are currently occupying. I just thought they might be of use to someone.
Best wishes
Paul.

deliver to East Yorks?
Why not!
Any excuse for an outing.

If you're interested send me a PM.

We have often bought stuff that involved a long drive, possible an evening meal and a nice B and B thrown in for good measure. Just last week Mrs B purchased a second hand 3000 peice jigsaw on Ebay for £7. As the elderly owner wouldn't post it, it must have cost at least £30 in fuel and Dart charges to collect it from Essex!!! Then there was the full afternoon tea costing £55 in a swanky hotel on the way home. All in that jigsaw must have cost us nearly £100. It would have been a good day out if it wasn't for the fact that the afternoon tea was one of the worst we've ever had.

The jigsaw was merely the excuse for an outing. However I didn't miss the opportunity to point out that she could have purchased the same jigsaw new on Amazon and had it delivered the next day for £40. :thumb

Mrs Borris - "It was an unused jigsaw and no-one else was even looking at it and is by far the most attractive picture available in the small range of jigsaws of that size! Also the Amazon price was £45."

have California will travel !!
not a problem in our book, posh teas are questionable if you don't like cucumber sandwiches without crusts!

Actually, I can't remember the last time I was offered a cucumber sandwich. They usually have much more exotic fare stuffed within. We don't indulge ourselves in this wonderfully English institution that often but over the years we have had very many utterly superb afternoon teas. They have usually been either spur of the moment decisions or presents from our children who know of our shared weakness. I did book a package deal for a birthday treat for Mrs B some years ago which involved afternoon tea at the Dorchester in London followed by an evening meal and then on to the theatre. The trouble was the tea lasted most of the afternoon so the evening meal was surplus to requirements. That tea has to be one of the best we've ever had although given how much it cost me it ought to have been. Unfortunately that wonderful experience was marred by the train journey home afterwards with youths fighting and drunks throwing up.

Other brilliant teas have been in humble village tea shops, country hotels and places of note like Chatsworth and not forgetting Bettys in both York and Harrogate of course. Chatsworth was particularly memorable due to it being accompanied by a large and wonderful Chatsworth specialist G and T. Highly recommended! If you're ever passing through Dover the unlikely Best Western Hotel also does a very passable afternoon spread. However, after last weeks lack lustre experience I would advise steering well clear of Chilston Park Hotel near Maidstone. We've been there on many occasions but never again!

BTW I suppose I should ask if you are interested in the wheels?

Best wishes from Kent.

As the circumstances stand we have decided not to spend on anything other than essential stuff so at present we are walking away from buying wheels .
