What are the options for fitting a 5th seat if we don’t have the middle floor rail please?

Can the middle floor rail be retro fitted either by VW or a specialist, or any other suggestions?

VW won't fit it I'm afraid, and if you have a 4Motion, your Avatar doesn't mention which vehicle you have, then weight becomes a problem if it is a SE/Ocean.

If you don’t have the extra rail in a Cali the van will only be classed as a four seat on the log book so that will need to be changed. Don’t know about a Beach.

Mine has an option on the spec list called something like 'registration for 5 seats' even though I have no 5th seat or even rail, maybe worth checking.

I should have mentioned that it’s a California Ocean 72 reg not a 4Motion if that makes a difference?

if you have a 4 motion, either Ocean or Beach, you are not allowed to option the 5th seat, weight issue I presume, at least on the configurator - I know that for sure as it was a criteria for choosing 2WD.
don't know exactly on retrofit.

In case this helps someone else in the future, this company can retro-fit the third floor rail to enable the 5th removable seat to be used -
