About cooking smoke exhaustion

Because of the rain season, I always cook in my California ocean, but the cooking smoke and smell are so annoying. Do you have a better way to solve this problem like use a exhaust fan or something?
Thank you.

Normally have a big opening, such as boot or sliding door open,

however we are talking about the monsoon season so water ingress can be a problem, not to mention a little bit chilly.

My only answer in that case would be the sliding window over the kitchen.

I still have horrible flashbacks of my early days in a Cali, going away with freshly chopped vegetables all ready to use, and living with the smell for what seemed to be forever of fired onions and steak. Never again.

Now I limit my use of a frying pan to stir fried vegetables or potato croquettes or similar, with main food items cooked in the Remoska (if on grid) or Ridge monkey (if off).

I find the Brandrup Airscreen for the kitchen-side sliding window, to keep out the rain when cooking or sleeping ,is essential in the winter. Also I have a small car fan that plugs into the cigarette lighter and which can be attached with a sucker next to the open kitchen window - it is very effective at removing steam and cooking smoke.

You could get a 12v extractor fan, attach some flexible ducting. Hang it above the hob and out through the sliding window ?

I bought a left side rain-protect window, It is made of iron, and then bought a usb small fan with magenta, but the problem is, the size and power of the fan so weak, I can’t find a big enough fan anywhere.

Correct. that fan is too small. Try this - https://www.txautosport.co.uk/produ...R5oM0Bbo4aCrCHl8oDDMxnd1r9OMjmdwaAg-oEALw_wcB - though it may be noisy and you will need to attach a regulator to control speed.

The 8 in one should suffice.

Also, which brand is that window that you have bought?

Edit: or try something from here - https://www.mishimoto.co.uk/automotive/fans-accessories.html

Great, this is exactly what i was looking for, thank you so much!
I bought this window from Germany, but I forgot the brand, sorry.

The Window insert is made by Reimo.

Reimo also have a replacement Tailgate Glass/Window, for the T6 that opens.

Have you tried using the aux heater in ventilation mode? I think that’s what it’s there for. If you’re cooking, you probably will be warm enough anyway, so you won’t be using the heater to warm the van.

I'm sorry I don't know much about electrical things. Can you recommend a reguletor? In addition, is it necessary to connect a cigarette lighter plug?

Simplest method if no metal window vent would be a fan that clips to the top of the cooker glasslid and blows out of the side window.

Example with speed control

On your two questions
a) Cigarette lighter plug - yes, that is correct. Something like this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12V-24V-...and=Unbranded&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851- Not sure about the fuse rating on that outlet, but start on slow speed with the regulator.
b) depending on the fan you buy, this should be a good option - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12V-24V-...754257?hash=item2d0532f651:g:nTMAAOSwq3FeV5Dg

If you are able to list which fan you are planning to buy, then based on the voltage requirement of the fan, you may need to upgrade the regulator.

The Parking Heater just circulates air drawn from inside the vehicle back into the vehicle. It does not draw air in from outside the vehicle.

Not sure it is a worthy solution but what about a usb fan to push the smell outwards rather than the extraction method? Sorry my Cali is still on order so I don’t know usb points

Be careful, the Reimo ones are not suitable for the T6.1,
I got these for the T6.1

It’s different on the 6.1. There are two modes - one for heating, which recirculates air as you say, and one for ventilation that draws air in from outside, and presumably expels air somewhere else, although not sure where the vent is!

In that case they are either using a separate system for ventilation mode, a different Eberspacher Heater, which I haven't come across or a different make of heater. What does the Door label say?
