Additional locking knobs for VW Bike rack?

I have just fitted a genuine VW T6 bike rack. I noticed that only one of the four support bar knobs has a lock on it, meaning that a light fingered rogue can easily remove the remaining three support bars.

Can I buy additional rotary knobs that can be locked in place?

Or does someone have any good ideas please?

I cannot believe that others have not pondered on this before me.

Many thanks

Hi Alan, plenty of topics on this I think but the advice I (and others give) is certainly don't rely on the cr@ppy locking knob (which can be jemmied in seconds) unless your bikes are total junk - even then it's an inconvenience if they get nicked.

Instead you should always use at least one (preferably two) proper hardened steel chains (10mm thickness links) and decent high level padlocks. Using two chains/locks try to cover frame, front and back wheels and I also go through the bar nearest the tailgate and the support bars. Try to lock all together in one great big bundle as it's still super easy to hacksaw through the aluminium rack in a minute or so and lift the lot off.

Many thanks Max-Felix. Yes I'm thinking the same as you on this.
