Alternative window blinds

I know the window blinds are a bit flimsy..but they seem both neat and effective. Has anyone tried replacing the blind material with something a little warmer/ brighter (in colour) or would this be too fiddly for words?

I had a set of a pillar blinds in my old conversion from a California comfortline. You can take any of the VW blinds apart but the roller inside the cylindrical aluminium housing is spring loaded and quite tricky to reassemble. The fabric is bonded to the internal roller and the lower garb strip, I would forget the idea if I was you, it could get messy!

I suspected that someone might say that! We haven't got the van yet, but from our hire van experience the interior is a bit bland isn't it?. Nice colourful blinds sounded a good idea...but evidently not practical...
