Annoying sliding door beep

I have a modern, health and safety beeping side door. It beeps continually as it closes, but it is really unnecessary as there are sensors which slide the door back if there is an obstruction. I sound like a reversing tipper lorry.

A late night toilet trip on a campsite announces to the world what you are up to.

Does anyone know how I had disable the beep.

...how I can disable the beep.

"Doors to manual" when making that late night excursion.

Hi
Take it either to VW garage or specialist they change and isolate wiring so it still automatically opens and closes without beep.
Good luck

Thank you. I didn't know there was a manual. I will investigate.

I think this has been raised before and VW will not disable the bleep as it's a safety feature. In that earlier discussion it was also suggested that if in the unlikely event of the door causing an injury the insurance company might take exception.
Having said that if anyone has managed to silence the bleep I'd like to hear how!

On myT5 the manual button is with the door open/close next to the passenger airbag button. Be warned in manual mode the door is very heavy.

Always have it on manual when camping . Then you can have it cracked open a linch or two for fresh air , and no annoying Beeb for neighbors. Button next to opening button on t5.

It's not that loud. You can barely hear it when more than 2 metres from the van.

Apologies that this is a little vague ...

I found a post on another forum where somebody had located the buzzer unit behind the trim in the boot and explained how to remove it, with a little soldering. There used to be an image at the link below but it's no longer there. If you can do this yourself - or find an independent garage (e.g., HappyDayz) capable of removing the trim and locating the unit - it might be worthwhile.

Or you could do what Martin (no not that one) did a few years back and locate the speaker and destroy it with a screwdriver!

Correct, I checked with my neighbours in a tent on the nearby pitch, not only had they not heard the beep but not the 'swish-bang' either. Very reassuring.

Thank you all. I might as well leave it alone.
