Hello everyone, another T6 dreamer (currently), but taking concrete steps to get a Cali including:
Step 1: subscribed as VIP member to this forum for 3 years :) (now that is a solid step)
Step 2: hire cali booked for 10 days in Dec - doing a round of the Europe Christmas markets (Strasbourg, Innsbruck, and Prague)
Step 3: sleepless nights reading all threads on this forum before I order one.

...

NO I shall not (Step 4: buying the cart before the horse .. I shall not start buying things for the cali yet)

So far, most of my camping has been on my motorcycle - which will continue when alone. This is when the wife also has to travel along. Helps with quick unplanned getaways and the work-from-home options (home is where the Cali is).

Hoping to contribute to this forum, especially on technology as quite well-versed with VW tech being the current owner of a Mark VI Golf 2.0 TDI ... and more when I get my Cali.

Wow enjoy the markets !.... you could buy some great nik naks for the van there... you will be full of carved wooden objects ;-)

I've gone for tow bar, so I can take the two motorbikes at some point in the future if needed. So you could have best of both worlds.

welcome and good luck with whatever you decide. Cali's beat a tent in my opinion.

Welcome! Sounds like you like you have a plan all mapped out! Enjoy the experience.

Welcome on board !

Thanks all for your warm welcome.

@Thruxton , yes, definitely am considering that. The wife can enjoy the van like and I can scoot around on my motorcycle.

@BerndRos , definitely keeping all options open. My only requirement is DSG, adaptive cruise and a towbar. Dunno if 5.1 had adaptive cruise. It on my golf has spoilt me.

On the lookout on this forum as well as with dealers on used ones (or new ones) ... and the right one.

Welcome kurienp
I used to camp on my bike and later a trike - it does make it easy when you change to the Cali - where others are stressing about where to put this and how to fit in that, you just put your camping stuff (minus tent) into the Cali and wonder what to do with the rest of the space!

I have to confess though, that after 18 months of ownership, there's not a lot of space left - but there is some!
