App Connect Maps going into Night Mode

Like many other I dont use my Discover Media, I prefer Google Maps or Waze however something that is really annoying me is when using App Connect and any map apps it keeping going into night mode and turning the screen dark, even if I just go under some tree's. Is there a setting I am missing somewhere?

Mine's the same it seems very sensitive. I have the waze app set to autp, not sure if it helps if its set to day time.

I assume you have auto lights then? I have manual headlights and the screen only switches to night node when I switch on the lights.

I checked Android Auto and don't see any settings that change this behaviour.

You have to access Android Auto developer mode and from there, you can set to 'Day' permanently.
