I'm looking for a good specialist who might tweak my set up to achieve optimum sound quality.

I have had installed replacement speakers, separate power amplifier and powered sub. All Alpine units. I have just had installed a RNS315. I appreciate that the audio output from the 315 limits what is possible but I've tried a more modern headunit (Alpine iLX700) with better audio output and I've decided I definitely much prefer the overall functionality and integration with the van of the 315.

So I just want to be sure I'm getting the best sound possible, given my set up. I've spent as much as I can justify on the hardware - though I would be prepared to spend a bit more around the edges if a recommended specialist convinced me it was worth it.

Thanks in anticipation!

(I live in Kendal, so recommendations in the north of England would be particularly good :) )

Preston ICE get mentioned on the forum quite often. Straight down the M6 for you.

Vmax - I followed up on that - they only install headunits, but the chap I spoke to there recommended another Preston outfit that on googling look good. I spoke to someone there and they're prepared to have a look without commitment to see if they can help. I hope to take the van down next week.

Reserves - they look great, but a bit of a distance if I can get what I need in Preston.

Fred - I'd forgotten about your very informative write up - looking again just now I think the process you describe is a bit beyond a technical numpty like me.

Thanks to all for your responses! One day I hope to achieve my dream
