When I try to change my avatar, I get the following error message:

The following error occurred:
Your avatar's file size is too large. Please upload an avatar no bigger than 4.9 KB​

As a VIP member, I hope the maximum allowed file size is larger than 4.9KB.

Here's the photo I would like to use:


I would also like to change my username to Amarillo. Can I do this myself, or do you need to do it for me?

I've had a few attempts both wirth my camera (24Mp) and then using phone but no success as yet.

Is there a way, other than resizing?

seemed odd as since have loaded a photo to a thread but Avatar limits size.

Yes, just google it, there are tons of programmes which resize for you

I am having the same problem as the OP - error message telling me 4.9KB is the max size. I am a VIP member so I think I should have a larger size limit but not sure from the above posts what the solution actually is?

The VIP limit is 5000 bytes send the picture to me at admin@vwcaliforniaclub.com and il see what I can do

Thanks - sorted it now. 5000 bytes is a pretty challenging size limit.
