Awning fraying on the edges

Hi all my wind out awning has started fraying on the edges has anyone else had this?, it’s currently in with Volkswagen Preston and the update I have got is that they are in discussion with Volkswagen about it, also in for bellows again.

I am sorry to see this.
Mine, at 15 years old, doesn't do that. It seems that the quality of the Thule/Omnistor is way lower than the "old" omnistor ones. The newer ones also come apart at the seem between the two parts.

Maybe one with a T6.1 can check theirs?

My old awning on a 5.1 did this a little. But, that wasn’t the worst of it. It totally came apart due to the infamous weld on those old ones. The replacement didn’t fray and neither does the awning on my new 6.1 - yet. However, I’ve had it out just a couple of times in the 4 nights of camping that I’ve done so far.
