hello campers!

We’re still on the hunt for a beach after ditching our ocean as we wanted more bed space and did t use the hob or sink or wardrobe enough.

But with the lack of stock available and with what is available being hideously over priced , can anyone advise if there is a decent equivalent to the beach out there?

Thanks
Marcus

The nearest stock Vehicle with a spec closest to a Beach would be a Caravelle.

obviously the Velle doesn’t have a pop top.
do you need a pop top ?

however you can have original OEM pop top fitted by Kernow Transporters, they have a FB page, they recently completed a build from a Velle to include the Cali pop top, using all correct Original parts / panels etc & retaining the rear air con.

OEM night heater etc can be fitted etc etc

essentially making a stock Velle a Beach

have a look at the FB.

ok thank you, that’s really helpful to know . Ill Go and check it out

The Mercedes Benz Marco Polo Horizon was an alternative to the Beach but not sure if it’s still available new.

Yes we would want captains spinning seats , window blinds and a pop top.

Does the velle have any of these as stock ?
I went from a Velle (Euro Multivan is essentially a Velle) and the rear bench is really a folding seat, not really a bed. There’s no extension so it won’t be long enough. Though we did use it as a bed with a double mattress on top of the bench and the 6th and 7th seats folded down… it sort of worked for a while when our son was tiny but there was no room to manoeuvre in the van.

You’d be looking at a conversation to get the pop top, and the swivelling seat bases are a fairly easy addition.

So We’d need to add a roof
( and trust whoever does it)
Window blinds
Electric
Captain sseats
And after all that the downstairs bed still isnt really a full size bed.
Doesn’t seem worth the hassle or exorbitant cost.
Thanks anyway guys.
Might look at the Marco Polo options….

I’d agree. Plus the factory pop top, blinds etc are way better than what you’d get on the aftermarket - then there’s the cost of the base vehicle. Haven’t sold mine yet but they’re going for about what I paid for it 7 years ago.

A cheaper option would be a Transporter Shuttle with twin sliding doors and the internal panelling. Can be fitted out with floor rails and California bed, along with the pop top if needed. Although if you make too many expensive mods, you may consider that it’s actually better to get a Beach..
