Good Afternoon All,

Just wondered what the best tracker system is for the Cali, we wont be getting ours delivered till January/February but the insurers require a tracker to insure. Thanks in advance :thumb

I have the VW Vodaphone approved one but it got me £1.00 yes one pound discount.

My quote went from £800 to £380 with a Tracker fitted. Thought it might be worth the investment based on that over 4 years. A car of ours was stolen 10 years back and fortunately it was recovered, hence the reason I would like to have a tracker fitted. Some insurers wont even consider cover unless you have a Tracker fitted based on the value of the vehicle.

Any recommendations? Adrian Flux quoted £380 fully comp insured for Social, Domestic and Commuting with a Tracker fitted.
Might be worth trying a specialist campervan/leisure vehicle insurer such as Comfort insurance or Safeguard insurance. Maybe even try Camping and caravan club or caravan and motorhome club insurance if you are a member?
At least you will get additional cover for your personal possessions and camping gear.

Thank you, I will try that. I think with it being a Brand new vehicle and with a high spec its cost must be pushing it into a bracket that needs a tracker. I don't mind paying £400 for a tracker to be fitted if it saves me £500 a year.

I think Comfort don't require a tracker and Safeguard might be the same, but double check with the small print as this may have changed.

I suppose it comes down to insurance discount vs the cost of installing and subscription costs. Also if you personally feel the need for one. Search for security in the forum and Autowatch Ghost immobiliser seems to be a popular addition to the standard VW security.

Thank you for your input, it's very much appreciated.

Look up Reviews. Adrian Flux is a Broker and some of the Insurance Companies they use do not figure highly.
A specialist company is the best, but not possibly the cheapest, but they know what the vehicle is and what it’s used for and cover for camping accidents and equipment you might have.
i use Caravan & Motorhome Club. No requirement for a Tracker.
