Bike rack bag storage - SE 2009 on original VW bike rack and aftermarket tow bar rack.

Any suggestions as to which are the best to go for either that fit onto the original VW bike rack - or onto the tow bar we have?
Got 2 huge dogs and a 6 year old so need some storage!

If you fit anything on to the vw bike rack, then you might struggle to open the tailgate.

With 2 adult bikes on the rack it can be difficult for some, so adding a storage box will be the same....unless you are prepared to remove the box, each time you want to open the tailgate.

Also, the extra weight means that the tailgate can close quickly with a thud.

So I think this question and your conclusion will be based more upon how you want to use the storage box.
