??bike rack or folding bikes

Eagerly awaiting the arrival of our Cali. we love the idea of taking a couple of bikes with us for use both here and abroad. Our dilemma is, is it difficult to handle two bikes on a bike rack or would it be easier to take a couple of folding bikes and transport them inside the van. We can see problems with both. If anybody has any advice it would be much appreciated.

No problem with two bikes either on vw rack or a towbar mounted rack. Easier to lift onto towbar mounted one. Do a search & you will find severalnthreads discusing the merits of bothntypes.

I have a fold up bike, in a bag, which I can lift without too much effort. It fits on the rear shelf. Am now on my own so suppose it makes a difference to stowage and how much kit you carry. Many years ago we had a Westfalia and had a bike rack on that.
No easy answer on this one.
