For Sale: Superb Brenderup 2205 Box Cargo / Camping Trailer (Braked, Upgraded Axle)
If you're looking for a safe, reliable and versatile box trailer, this Brenderup 2205 is a rare find. Purchased in 2017 from a master boiler maker who had carefully adapted it to transport the amazing heavy model steam locomotives and traction engines he built. We bought it after a disastrous experience with a lesser trailer on a French autoroute—frankly, we wish we’d found this one sooner!
Since then, it’s become our go-to trailer for just about everything: four trips to Biarritz in SW France, a run to the Alps, countless house moves, uni drop-offs, and general hauling duties. It’s never let us down and just cruises along effortlessly and safely, without having to worry about speed, stability, or inadequate suspension, braking, or tyres.
Unfortunately, due to ill health, it’s time for us to part with it. This is a robust, braked trailer that offers peace of mind, practicality, and years of service ahead. More than once, people have commented they’ve got "trailer envy!"

- Knott overrun braked drawbar with handbrake – excellent for safety and manoeuvrability
- Upgraded jockey wheel
- Phenolic plywood floor and panels on a galvanized steel chassis – built to last
- Vertically hinged rear barn doors – one locks internally, the other then locks to it with a strong Yale padlock (included)
- Roof opens to a 30° angle, increasing rear loading height from 111cm to 200cm – perfect for loading larger items or even a 300cc Vespa GTS scooter (which was in our plans!)
- 165R13C 96/94N load-rated tyres (13-inch wheels), all in very good condition
- Spare wheel (unused), mounted on the side
- Two wind-down rear legs for stable loading/unloading – they also let you change a wheel without needing a jack
- All lights work, with a standard 7-pin plug
- Trailer wheel lock, tow hitch lock, and padlock for doors all included
