I have these ‘All season’ tyres on my van. They have the M+S and 3PMSF markings. They have been great until I got to North Norway.

They do not work in Norway in Winter. They were so bad on the untreated icy snowy hills I had to change them, as there was a serious risk of sliding backwards down hills after losing traction. The traction control just saved me in time. The tyre fitter looked at them and said he doesn’t understand how all season tyres get approved, although they are legal here.

I replaced the front (driven) tyres with Nokian R3 Scandinavian winter tyres and it’s seriously like driving a different van. It feels totally sure footed on the snow and ice. Apparently Nokian specialise in winter tyres.

Very few 4WD around. Most just seem to drive normal cars with good tyres. Some of them have Nordic studded tyres fitted, but many don’t. Even RWD BMWs can drive up the solid ice road surface mountain passes. They are very big on Tesla’s here loads of them around and loads of super chargers around too.

All season tyres are probably okay for use in the UK but
Norway  no way.

I have Nokian winters and i like them.
I have some adidas samba trainers and they are good all-rounders but
prefer my wellies in winter and sandals in summer.

I ran Nokian winters on my last car all year round - they felt no different in summer but in that snow last year - wow just like driving on tarmac. When I sold the car (A Saab 9-3 Aero TTiD with 180hp) it had done about 20k on them and still more than 4mm left. Would love them on van but £££££'s

That sounds cheap! In Norway they are ££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££!!!! ?£!!!!!!!!!WTF!!!!!!???????

Tyreleader price seems Ok. fitting extra and need to make your own arrangements.

They fitted these to mine in 255/ 45/ 18
NOKIAN HAKKAPELIITTA R3

He said its a Scandinavian winter tyre, which has a different compound to normal European winter tyres.

They cost me £300 each. Everything in Norway is shockingly expensive though.

Tyreleader are Mainland Europe based and priced in Euros then current exchange rate applied. Worth a check if they can deliver to you. Takes 2-3 weeks for delivery.

I didn't put the price but now you ask they were on a Saab and were 225/45 x 18 and set me back about £125 per corner so £500 - Nokian WRD4

I think that is really not too bad. I’m super happy with mine, it’s such a vast improvement that the snow and ice just doesn’t bother me at all now.
