visiting caves at Pech Merle Saturday 23rd March.
Any campsites nearby that are open or Aires? Please

Hi John, looks like a lot of sites are closed until April, lots of aires with services though.

We stayed here while visiting Pech-Merle last year.

Unfortunately it doesn't open until April 13th, but the adjacent Aire (which is listed above under St Cirq Lapopie looked fine.
Great location below St Cirq Lapopie and only 15 minutes from Pech-Merle.

Visited Grotte Pech Merle last Saturday 23rd. The caves and cave painting were fantastic, only 25 people are allowed on one tour to protect the caverns, and limited tours per day, you have to book on line.
Thank you all for the info regarding camping, in the end we stayed at the aire at "camping plage.com" next to camp site
