Camping sites near mount saint-michel down to La Rochelle maybe further south

Travelling early May arrive Cherbourg around 1400 and thought we’d drive straight to Mont Saint-Michael area can anyone recommend camp sites near Mont Saint-michel then travelling over three week head down the coast towards Bordeaux. Any route recommendations, campsites, B&B etc things to do appreciated. This will be our first van trip to France all advice gratefully received

Have you tried the App park4night? That’s the free ones.
For the paid campsites we use ACSI it costs around €18 for the year and gives discounts in the off season. The app is fantastic and gives every detail about each campsite. France has thousands of reasonably priced campsites and free Aires. We have been going to France for about 20 years. 15 of them on a motorbike and at that time staying in hotels and b&bs.
The last 5 years in the van. Got to admit I do miss going on the bike but got fed up with getting soaked. Doesn’t matter how much it rains in the van..

If you thought about traveling a bit further make a be-line to Andorra through the Pyrenees mountains. Not only very cheap Diesel but bargain priced booze too. And views out of this world..Then head on to Northern Spain. We do that route every year ( except lockdown). And come back via Santander.

Has to be the small island of ile de re accessed by a toll bridge from La Rochelle.
Great beaches, brilliant cycle routes and fab restaurants. Famous for its mussel and salt beds.
Southern part of the island is quite cosmopolitan, northern town such as Ars have a more simple rustic feel.
Plenty of campsites would recommend.

You MUST go to Puy Du Fou!

Amazing place.

Stay overnight in the Campervan Carpark but please be aware that there are NO shower facilities.
