I'd like to vacuum the van with our domestic vacuum cleaner that's rated at 1900-2200 W

would that be OK if I plug the van in through EHU (into domestic electricity supply) or am I risking blowing a fuse.

the alternative is to trail a long electric lead from the house and not get involved with the van's electrics

any thoughts appreciated

Should be fine, can you come and do mine?

I think I'd like a portable hand held vacuum now

any recommendations please?

the Dyson one looks awesome but reviews seem mixed (some say only lasts 5 minutes on battery)...

We’ve had a couple, you do have to be quick with them!

I now take the Dyson V8 with me on every trip. It keeps the carpets clean in most situations. The dustpan and brush method was frustrating and ineffective. :thumb

Reading all this makes me again wonder if there's maybe something wrong with me ....should i do a visit to the docter.....;)

If the EHU is plugged into your Home domestic electricity supply, normally about 13 amps, then you can use appliances upto 2,500 watts without any problems.
On a campsite it may be less as most supplies are either standard 13 amps or 10 or 6 amps, particularly on the Continent. So take care.

Personally I just use a stiff brush, out the door. Worked for the last 4 years.

+1 WG.

This one even fits in our drivers door bin...

Ours takes next to no space at all! Velcro'd to the seat.

Hi All

Can anyone recommend a good Cali vacuum preferably cordless.

I have a springer spaniel who creates a lot of mess.
I have a turtle mat down but still get quite a bit of grit.

Piglet.
